Purpose
The Finance & Accounting Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the school's financial and accounting operations, ensuring accuracy in financial reporting, maintaining strong internal controls, and supporting the school's financial sustainability.
The role supervises daily accounting activities, ensures compliance with Indonesian Financial Accounting Standards (PSAK), and coordinates with external parties (including tax consultants and auditors) to maintain regulatory compliance.
Qualifications & Experience
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
CPA, CA, or other relevant professional certification is an advantage
Minimum 35 years of experience in finance and accounting roles
Prior supervisory experience is preferred
Strong understanding of financial reporting, budgeting, and cash flow management
Working knowledge of Indonesian tax regulations
Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., Accurate, Xero, or similar ERP systems)
Advanced Microsoft Excel skills for reporting and financial analysis
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills
High level of integrity and attention to detail
Excellent communication skills in English and Bahasa Indonesia
Experience in an international school or education sector is an advantage
Ability to work effectively in a multicultural environment
Duties & Responsibilities
1.Financial Management
Oversee daily financial operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll coordination, and cash flow management
Monitor and control operational expenditures in line with the approved budget
Prepare monthly financial statements, variance reports, and cash flow forecasts
Support the development of the annual budget and periodic financial forecasting
Provide financial analysis and insights to support strategic and operational decision-making
Monitor tuition collection and ensure timely follow-up on outstanding receivables
2.Accounting Operations
Supervise general ledger maintenance, journal entries, reconciliations, and month-end/year-end closing processes
Ensure timely and accurate financial reporting in accordance with PSAK
Review and approve accounting transactions to ensure completeness and accuracy
Maintain and strengthen internal control systems to safeguard school assets
Ensure proper documentation and filing of financial records for audit readiness
Coordinate with external auditors and follow up on audit findings and recommendations
3.Regulatory & Tax Coordination
Coordinate with the appointed tax consultant to ensure tax filings and payments are completed accurately and on time
Review tax calculations and supporting documents prior to submission
Ensure compliance with relevant financial and regulatory requirements
Assist in responding to inquiries from tax authorities and other regulatory bodies
4.Team Supervision & Development
Supervise, guide, and evaluate finance staff to maintain high performance standards
Allocate tasks effectively to ensure timely completion of financial processes
Provide coaching and training to improve technical competency and compliance awareness
Promote a culture of accountability, accuracy, and continuous improvement
5.Compliance and Reporting
Ensure compliance with school policies, financial regulations, and internal procedures
Prepare financial reports and summaries for senior leadership and the School Board
Support management in financial planning, risk assessment, and cost control initiatives
Assist in developing and updating financial policies and standard operating procedures
