Field Service Engineer

The Role:

The Field Service Engineer is responsible for providing first-level technical support to local and regional customers for ASMPT SMT Solutions equipment. The successful candidate will be responsible for troubleshooting and following up on open issues through to resolution, while communicating solutions effectively to service teams and customers. This role will primarily involve SMT equipment installation, hotline support, and field service activities across Indonesia and the Rest of Asia.

Responsibilities:

• Perform machine installation, commissioning, on-site training, and production monitoring
• Provide standby service support and respond promptly to customer service requests
• Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues at customer sites as required
• Deliver on-site technical training to customers and internal teams as a designated technical product champion
• Conduct hardware and software product training for ASMPT customers
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives and develop innovative approaches to enhance product training delivery and customer value
• Support technical activities related to our SMT Solutions offerings

Requirements:

• Diploma or Degree in Electrical, Electronics, or Mechatronics Engineering
• Able to communicate effectively in spoken and written English
• Basic project management knowledge will be an advantage
• Experience in SMT equipment service and maintenance is preferred
• Experience in SMT processes and applications will be an advantage.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a focus on results and quality
• Willing to travel on short notice
• Excellent teamwork and interpersonal skills; ability to collaborate in a multicultural environment with stakeholders at all levels globally
