Job Description – Hydrogen Peroxide Field Operator

Position: Hydrogen Peroxide Field Operator

Department: Pulp Chemical Plant / Chemical Plant

Location: Pangkalan Kerinci, Riau

Key Responsibilities:

• Operate and monitor Hydrogen Peroxide (H₂O₂) production/process equipment from the field according to SOP and safety procedures.
• Monitor operating parameters such as pressure, temperature, flow, level, concentration, and other process conditions.
• Conduct routine field inspection of pumps, valves, pipelines, tanks, reactors, compressors, and other process equipment.
• Perform equipment line-up, start-up, shutdown, isolation, and changeover activities as instructed.
• Take samples and conduct basic process checks in coordination with the laboratory/quality team.
• Identify abnormal operating conditions, equipment abnormalities, leaks, or process deviations and report them to the Shift Supervisor/Control Room Operator.
• Support troubleshooting and corrective actions during process upsets and equipment abnormalities.
• Perform routine housekeeping and maintain cleanliness and safety standards within the operating area.
• Follow chemical handling, HSE, emergency response, and environmental procedures, particularly for Hydrogen Peroxide and other hazardous chemicals.
• Support maintenance activities through proper equipment isolation, preparation, and work permit requirements.
• Record field readings, operational activities, and abnormalities accurately in the log sheet.
• Coordinate closely with Control Room Operators, Shift Supervisors, Maintenance, Laboratory, and other related teams.
• Participate in emergency response, safety drills, and continuous improvement activities.

Requirements

• Minimum Senior High School / Diploma in Chemical Engineering, Chemical Process, Mechanical Engineering, or related technical discipline.
• Minimum 2–5 years of experience as a Field Operator/Process Operator in a chemical plant, pulp & paper mill, petrochemical, refinery, or similar process industry.
• Experience in Hydrogen Peroxide (H₂O₂) production/process will be an advantage.
• Good understanding of chemical plant operations, process equipment, and basic process control.
• Familiar with operating equipment such as pumps, valves, tanks, reactors, compressors, pipelines, and heat exchangers.
• Able to read and understand P&ID, process flow diagrams, equipment drawings, and operating procedures.
• Good understanding of chemical safety, PPE, LOTO, work permits, and emergency response procedures.
• Able to identify abnormal process conditions and take appropriate initial action.
• Willing to work on a shift basis.
• Physically fit and comfortable working in a field/plant environment.
• Good communication and teamwork skills.
• Willing to be based in Pangkalan Kerinci, Pelalawan, Riau.
