About the Position
Gingersnap Bali is seeking a creative, detail-oriented, and highly motivated Fashion Design Assistant to join our Creative and Product Development team.
This position offers an excellent opportunity to be directly involved in the entire product development cycle, from trend research and concept development to pattern making, sample development, technical documentation, fittings, and final production.
The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of both the creative and technical aspects of fashion design and be comfortable working in a collaborative, fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the Head Designer throughout the product development process.
- Conduct research on fashion trends, fabrics, colors, silhouettes, prints, and other design references.
- Create mood boards and contribute ideas for new collections.
- Collaborate with the Pattern Maker to develop, review, and refine garment patterns.
- Prepare technical documentation, including Tech Packs, measurement charts, grading specifications, and garment specifications.
- Coordinate prototype development based on design concepts, sketches, and visual references.
- Source fabrics, trims, and accessories while maintaining communication with suppliers.
- Prepare samples, garments, and supporting materials for product presentations, photoshoots, and fashion events.
- Maintain and organize the Pattern Room, Sample Room, and product documentation.
- Assist in fabric consumption calculations and garment costing together with the Head of Garment.
- Collaborate with the Production, Quality Control, and Pattern Making teams to ensure product quality and consistency.
Qualifications
- Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Fashion Design, Pattern Making, Fashion Technology, or a related field.
- Proven understanding of garment construction, pattern making, grading, and garment specifications.
- Experience in preparing Tech Packs and technical drawings.
- Proficiency in Adobe Illustrator is required. Experience with Adobe Photoshop will be considered an advantage.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills.
- Excellent attention to detail.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical abilities.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
- English proficiency will be considered an advantage.
