Job Description

Monroe Consulting Group Indonesia is representing a leading food manufacturing company in their search for an Engineering Manager to join their team in Gorontalo.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Lead and manage the overall Engineering function across production, utilities, and plant infrastructure operations.
  • Develop and implement engineering strategies aligned with business growth, operational excellence, reliability, and sustainability objectives.
  • Oversee preventive, predictive, and condition-based maintenance programs to maximize equipment reliability, availability, and production continuity.
  • Lead reliability improvement initiatives, including Root Cause Analysis (RCA), failure investigations, corrective actions, and maintenance optimization.
  • Ensure the optimal performance of production lines, utilities, and infrastructure, including boilers, compressors, refrigeration systems, water treatment, power distribution, and related systems.
  • Drive automation, digitalization, TPM, Lean Manufacturing, and continuous improvement initiatives to improve productivity and operational efficiency.
  • Lead CAPEX and engineering projects from conceptualization through commissioning, including plant expansion, modernization, equipment upgrades, and technology enhancement.
  • Manage engineering budgets, maintenance expenditures, contractors, vendors, and other external service providers.
  • Establish and maintain engineering SOPs, standards, KPIs, governance frameworks, and compliance requirements.
  • Ensure compliance with EHS, food safety, ISO 50001, engineering standards, and applicable regulatory requirements.
  • Support energy management and sustainability initiatives through utility optimization, resource conservation, and energy-saving projects.
  • Lead, coach, and develop the engineering team, including capability building, succession planning, and performance management.
  • Collaborate closely with Production, Quality, Supply Chain, Procurement, Finance, EHS, and other stakeholders to support manufacturing excellence.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Process, Industrial Engineering, or a related engineering discipline.
  • Minimum 8–10 years of engineering and maintenance experience, including at least 5 years in an engineering leadership role.
  • Proven experience managing engineering and maintenance operations within a complex manufacturing environment.
  • Experience in food manufacturing, food processing, beverage, dairy, FMCG, or related industries is highly preferred.
  • Strong experience in preventive, predictive, and condition-based maintenance systems, asset reliability, and maintenance planning.
  • Proven experience in engineering project management and CAPEX implementation.
  • Strong knowledge of plant utilities and infrastructure management.
  • Experience with SAP PM, CMMS, automation, digitalization, or BI tools will be an advantage.
  • Strong understanding of TPM, Lean Manufacturing, Operational Excellence, and Continuous Improvement practices.
  • Experience in contractor and vendor management, budgeting, cost control, and resource optimization.
  • Good understanding of EHS, food safety, ISO 50001, and engineering compliance requirements.
  • Strong leadership, analytical, problem-solving, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Strong planning, organizing, and execution capabilities, with a results-oriented and continuous improvement mindset.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and high-performance manufacturing environment.
  • Willing to relocate to Gorontalo.
