Job Description

Engineering Manager

Location: West Java, Indonesia

Reports To: Operations Director

Job Purpose:

The Engineering Manager is responsible for leading and managing all engineering and technical functions at the FMCG manufacturing site, ensuring high equipment reliability, optimal production efficiency, compliance with safety and quality standards, and continuous improvement of plant performance.

Key Responsibilities

Engineering & Maintenance Operations

  • Lead and manage all engineering, maintenance, and utility activities across the plant.
  • Ensure optimal performance, availability, and reliability of production equipment and utilities.
  • Develop and implement preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance programs.
  • Minimize unplanned downtime and improve Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE).

Project & Capex Management


  • Plan and execute capital expenditure (CAPEX) projects, including new line installation, upgrades, and automation initiatives.
  • Manage engineering projects from concept, design, installation, commissioning, to handover.
  • Coordinate with vendors, contractors, and internal stakeholders to ensure projects are delivered on time and within budget.

Continuous Improvement & Automation


  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives using Lean Manufacturing, TPM, and problem-solving methodologies.
  • Identify opportunities for automation, energy efficiency, and cost reduction.
  • Support productivity, yield improvement, and waste reduction initiatives.

Safety, Quality & Compliance


  • Ensure compliance with HSE, food safety, and quality standards (e.g. GMP, HACCP, ISO).
  • Lead safety programs within the engineering function and ensure zero-accident culture.
  • Ensure all equipment and installations comply with regulatory and company standards.

Budget & Cost Control


  • Prepare and manage engineering and maintenance budgets.
  • Control spare parts inventory and maintenance costs effectively.
  • Monitor KPIs and report engineering performance to management.

Key Requirements


  • Bachelors degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Mechatronics, or Industrial Engineering.
  • Minimum 810 years of engineering experience in FMCG manufacturing (food, beverage, consumer goods).
  • At least 35 years in a managerial or leadership role at plant level.
  • Strong experience in maintenance management, CAPEX projects, and plant engineering.
  • Strong knowledge of FMCG production equipment and utilities (processing, packaging, automation).
  • Experience with TPM, Lean Manufacturing, OEE improvement, and CI tools.
  • Understanding of food safety, GMP, HACCP, and EHS standards.
  • Strong leadership and people management skills.
  • Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and decision-making abilities.
  • Effective communication and stakeholder management skills.
