Position: Electrical Technician

Department: Electrical / Maintenance

Location: Pangkalan Kerinci, Riau

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance for electrical systems and equipment in Power Boiler, Evaporator, Recausticizing, and Lime Kiln areas.
• Conduct inspection, troubleshooting, repair, and maintenance of electrical equipment to ensure safe and reliable plant operation.
• Maintain and troubleshoot electric motors, MCC, switchgear, transformers, VFD/inverters, soft starters, distribution panels, and electrical protection systems.
• Perform electrical maintenance for process equipment such as boiler feed pumps, ID/FD fans, conveyors, agitators, pumps, compressors, lime mud filters, kiln drives, and other rotating equipment.
• Troubleshoot electrical problems related to motor trips, overloads, insulation issues, VFD faults, control circuits, and power supply abnormalities.
• Conduct electrical testing and inspection, including insulation resistance, continuity, grounding/earthing, motor condition, and protection devices.
• Support electrical maintenance during equipment shutdown, turnaround, commissioning, and major maintenance activities.
• Read and interpret electrical drawings, single-line diagrams, wiring diagrams, schematics, and P&IDs.
• Coordinate with Operations, Instrumentation, Mechanical, and other Maintenance teams to resolve equipment issues and minimize plant downtime.
• Conduct root cause analysis for recurring electrical failures and recommend corrective actions.
• Ensure electrical equipment and installations comply with SOP, electrical standards, LOTO, work permit, and HSE requirements.
• Maintain accurate maintenance records, inspection reports, and equipment history.
• Support improvement projects related to equipment reliability, energy efficiency, and electrical system performance.
• Participate in emergency response, troubleshooting, and standby/on-call activities when required.

Requirements

• Minimum D3/S1 Electrical Engineering or related technical discipline.
• Minimum 3–5 years of experience in electrical maintenance within a pulp & paper, power plant, chemical plant, or other process industry.
• Hands-on experience in Power Boiler, Evaporator, Recausticizing, and/or Lime Kiln areas is highly preferred.
• Strong experience in maintenance and troubleshooting of:
• Electric Motors
• MCC & Switchgear
• VFD / Inverter
• Soft Starter
• Transformer
• Electrical Protection System
• Distribution Panel
• Control Circuit
• Good understanding of LV/MV electrical systems and industrial power distribution.
• Able to read and understand single-line diagrams, electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and equipment drawings.
• Experienced in electrical testing such as insulation resistance, continuity, grounding, and motor testing.
• Familiar with LOTO, electrical safety, work permits, and HSE procedures.
• Good troubleshooting and problem-solving skills, particularly for electrical equipment in continuous process operations.
• Able to work independently and coordinate effectively with multidisciplinary maintenance teams.
• Willing to work on a shift basis and standby/on-call when required.
• Willing to be based in Pangkalan Kerinci, Pelalawan, Riau.
