About the Role

The Global Operations Capability Program develops future capability specialists who can be deployed across Filtrona's manufacturing network to support operational stabilization, capability transfer, startup activities, continuous improvement initiatives, and strategic transformation projects. Participants will be based in designated development hubs and are expected to undertake short-term and long-term assignments globally to support business needs.

Purpose of the Job

To develop technical expertise in electronic systems, machine controls and automation technologies that support equipment reliability, machine performance and manufacturing capability across Filtrona's global manufacturing network.

Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities:

  • Troubleshoot electronic machine issues
  • Support PLC, HMI and control system maintenance
  • Improve equipment reliability
  • Support automation projects
  • Assist commissioning of new equipment
  • Develop machine diagnostics capability
  • Support technical deployment assignments
  • Share best practices across sites

Success Measures:

  • Improve machine electrical/electronic reliability and reduce unplanned downtime.
  • Deliver timely resolution of electronic and control system issues.
  • Successfully support commissioning and equipment upgrades.
  • Improve equipment performance through data-driven analysis.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Electronics Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering, Automation Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related discipline.
  • Tobacco industry background preferred.
  • 2–5 years of relevant manufacturing experience.
  • Exposure to maintenance, manufacturing engineering, automation, capital projects, equipment improvement, or continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to interpret operational data and identify improvement opportunities.
  • Understanding of manufacturing processes and operational workflows, maintenance systems and reliability concepts, root cause analysis, TPM, automation and controls, and project management.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, data analysis tools, and SAP.
