Job Description

We're a fast-growing direct-to-consumer health & wellness brand in the back pain and sciatica space. We scale on paid acquisition, and long-form VSLs are the creative that does the selling.

And we're continuing to scale. More angles. More batches. More creative. More VSLs.

Which means we need editors who can keep up with the volume... Without sacrificing quality.

We're hiring a Direct Response VSL Video Editor to help us build the next generation of creative for the brand.

What You'll Actually Be Doing

  • You'll edit direct-response video for a health & wellness brand — primarily long-form VSLs (2–10+ minutes), plus the shorter paid ads cut from them.
  • You'll turn scripts, voiceovers, raw footage, and creative briefs into polished VSLs built for performance.
  • You'll build the motion graphics that carry the argument: anatomical overlays, animated callouts, pain-point animations, product highlights.
  • You'll work directly with me — no layers, no committee, no three rounds of approvals.
  • You'll receive feedback. You'll revise. You'll improve.

We're Probably A Fit With

  • You've already edited direct-response ads for DTC/eCommerce brands — VSLs ideally, and ideally for health, wellness, supplements, or nutraceutical brands operating at meaningful scale.
  • You understand that a VSL is not the same thing as editing a YouTube video, TikTok, podcast, or brand commercial.
  • You understand direct response — retention pacing, watch time, and the fact that the edit's job is to sell.
  • You've worked inside a high-volume creative environment.
  • You can show us examples where your editing helped turn a script and voiceover into something people couldn't stop watching.
  • You can execute motion graphics — or you're genuinely willing to learn them fast. Our creative leans on visual explanation, so this doesn't stay optional.
  • You use AI in your workflow. Not as a novelty — as part of how you actually work: generative fill and extend, b-roll, upscaling, cleanup, whatever makes the asset better and faster.
  • You should be comfortable working with tools such as: Adobe Premiere Pro, After Effects, DaVinci Resolve, Frame.io, Google Drive, Dropbox.

Work from wherever you're most productive. There are no set hours and no timesheets — but the deadlines are real, and you need to be responsive while a batch is moving.

What It Pays

  • Freelance / independent contractor — paid per project, on delivery.
  • $40 per finished minute of video. Every project is quoted and paid on the deliverable, not on hours.
  • A consistent, ongoing flow of projects — roughly the equivalent of 20 hours a week, on your own schedule.
  • Performance-based bonus on assets that scale.
  • A path to a full-time retained role ($2,000–$3,000/month) for the right editor.

Here's How Our Hiring Process Works

  • First... Show us your work. We want to see your portfolio — VSLs first if you have them.
  • If we like what we see, we'll invite you to complete a paid trial task.
  • You'll receive the trial assignment and instructions from us, and payment for the completed trial will be made on delivery, subject to the terms provided with the assignment.

No long-form VSLs in your reel yet Send it anyway. If you've edited direct-response eCommerce ads, we want to see it — that's the experience that actually transfers.

We're hiring immediately.
