Company Description SMA Global Darussalam Academy (GDA) is Indonesia's first Islamic boarding IB World School offering the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme (IBDP). Located near Mount Merapi in Yogyakarta, GDA prepares globally competitive leaders grounded in strong Islamic-Indonesian values.

The school provides comprehensive boarding facilities, including dormitories, dining hall, sports fields, and modern classrooms and laboratories. GDA combines academic rigor with Islamic values, leadership development, and intensive character building through Islamic teachings.

Role Description The DP Economics Teacher is responsible for planning and delivering International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme Economics lessons that align with IB standards and school values. This full-time, on-site role in Yogyakarta includes plan and deliver inquiry-based lessons, assessing student progress, and providing constructive feedback. The teacher collaborates with colleagues on curriculum development, participates in professional learning, contribute to IB Core components, and supports school-wide initiatives related to character building. Daily responsibilities also include maintaining a safe and well-organized learning environment, contributing to boarding school activities, and engaging in communication with students, guardians, and staff to support holistic student development. He/she will align with the school's faith-based ethos and comfortable working within a residential boarding school community.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Economics, Economics Education, or a closely related field; teaching certification or IB training is preferred.
  • Strong foundation in Economics and Business, with the ability to teach DP-level content effectively.
  • Candidates should possess effective Teaching skills, with experience facilitating student-centered learning and differentiated instruction.
  • Candidates should possess Lesson Planning abilities, including designing clear, coherent, and IB-aligned units and assessments.
  • Candidates should possess strong Communication skills, both spoken and written, for interaction with students, colleagues, and guardians.
  • Ability to model integrity, cultural and religious sensitivity, and commitment to students academic and character development.
  • Demonstrated commitment to ongoing professional development.
  • Experience working in a boarding or Islamic school environment is beneficial.
  • Willing to relocate to Sleman, Yogyakarta.
