Key Responsibilities
1. Technical Leadership & Engineering Management:
- Act as the ultimate technical authority and approver for all engineering deliverables (designs, calculations, drawings, specifications) for transmission line and substation projects.
- Lead, mentor, and manage a multidisciplinary engineering team (Civil, Electrical, Mechanical, Protection & Control).
- Ensure all engineering designs comply with Indonesian national standards (PUIL, SPLN), international standards (IEC, IEEE), and client-specific requirements.
- Oversee the development and review of project-specific technical methodologies, including foundation design, tower erection, cable installation, and substation equipment commissioning.
2. Project Execution & Delivery:
- Provide critical engineering input during project bidding, including technical proposals, methodology, and resource planning.
- Collaborate closely with the Project Management and Construction teams to ensure seamless translation of design into field execution.
- Oversee technical query (TQ) and site instruction (SI) processes, ensuring timely and accurate solutions.
- Manage engineering schedules and budgets, ensuring resource efficiency.
3. QHSE (Quality, Health, Safety & Environment) Stewardship:
- Champion a culture of Safety First and zero-harm within the engineering team and across projects.
- Ensure all engineering designs incorporate inherent safety principles (Design for Safety).
- Oversee the divisional Quality Management System, ensuring adherence to ISO 9001, 14001, and 45001 standards.
- Lead root cause analysis for any technical failures, quality non-conformities, or safety incidents, implementing corrective and preventive actions.
4. Technology & Innovation:
- Identify, evaluate, and implement new technologies, software (e.g., advanced PLS-CADD, Bentley, ETAP), and construction methodologies to improve efficiency, safety, and quality.
- Drive digitalization initiatives within engineering.
- Foster a culture of continuous improvement and knowledge sharing within the team.
5. Stakeholder & Client Management:
- Serve as the key technical point of contact for clients, consultants (MK), and regulatory bodies (e.g., PLN).
- Lead technical presentations and reviews with stakeholders.
- Ensure strong and professional relationships are maintained with all external technical partners.
Qualifications:
Education: Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering relevant major
Experience:
- Minimum 10 years of progressive experience in the power sector, with at least 5 years in engineering management role.
- Proven track record in managing the engineering for EPC projects (from PLN)of high-voltage transmission lines (SUTT, SUTET) and substations (GIS, AIS).
- Deep, hands-on experience with Indonesian power grid projects and a strong network with PLN and related agencies is a significant advantage.
Technical Skills:
- Expert knowledge of transmission line design (PLS-CADD, TOWER), substation design, protection & control systems, and foundation engineering.
- In-depth understanding of QHSE management systems in construction.
- Proficient in relevant Indonesian and international technical standards.
Soft Skills:
- Exceptional leadership and team development abilities.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.
- Fluent in English.
- Strong commercial and business acumen.
