About The Job

We are looking for a
Director of Desa Experience to lead the cultural programming and experience ecosystem across the Desa. This is an Executive Committee-level role, reporting to the Managing Director, at the intersection of music, culture, events and hospitality.
A major part of the role is an annual multidisciplinary cultural festival bringing together music, art, design, wellbeing, food and other creative disciplines. The Director will lead the festival end-to-end, while also shaping the wider year-round cultural programme across the Desa.
What You'll Do
- Lead the Desa Experience team across cultural programming, residencies, daily programming, music, event production, experience marketing and Headstream.
- Lead the annual cultural festival end-to-end, including programming, production, marketing, sponsorship, ticketing and commercial performance.
- Drive the year-round programming calendar across music, art, design, wellbeing, food and other cultural disciplines.
- Build and maintain long-term relationships with artists, chefs, designers, promoters, agents and cultural collaborators.
- Lead music programming, including residents, guest artists, DJs and live performances.
- Manage event budgets, P&Ls, ticket targets, sponsorship and revenue.
- Work closely with hotel, beach club, F&B, marketing and operational teams to deliver seamless experiences across the Desa.
- Develop local talent and strengthen the cultural communities connected to Desa Potato Head.
- Lead and develop the team, building the capabilities and relationships needed to deliver an ambitious cultural programme.
What You Bring
- Proven experience leading large-scale festivals, events or cultural experiences, ideally with responsibility for events attracting thousands of attendees.
- A strong and current music industry network across Southeast Asia, including artists, agents, promoters and/or labels.
- A strong production network across promoters, vendors and technical partners.
- Experience working across multiple creative disciplines, ideally including music, art, design, wellbeing and F&B.
- Strong commercial understanding, including event budgets, artist fees, ticket pricing, sponsorship and revenue.
- Proven ability to lead teams and work effectively across multiple departments and stakeholders.
- Strong production and operational capability, with the ability to turn creative ideas into well-executed experiences.
- Experience in hospitality, lifestyle, festivals, music or cultural programming is highly regarded.
