Who We Are:
Seven Clean Seas (SCS) is an ocean impact organisation on a mission to become the world's largest preventer of ocean plastic pollution. We build and manage plastic recovery projects in the world's most polluted hotspots, removing plastic waste from the marine environment whilst providing fair and direct employment. At present, we operate four global projects between Indonesia (Bintan, Batam, Bali) and Thailand (Bangkok).
The Role:
We're looking for someone to be an extension of the core Marketing Team as our content creator in Batam and Bintan. These were the first global projects built by Seven Clean Seas, and as of 2025, they're the largest in terms of plastic waste recovery. Your role is crucial in capturing and converting our conservation efforts into captivating content.
The ideal candidate is a professional with a strong portfolio showcasing his/her video production and photography skills. You'll work closely with the Social Media Manager as well as the on-site Projects Teams. Be open to challenges, eager to improve your skills, and willing to show us your passion and drive for communicating impact.
Responsibilities:
Content Production & Storytelling
- Translate on-the-ground operations into compelling visual narratives that communicate impact, scale, and human stories.
- Provide end-to-end production of digital content from concept development to final edit, for various marketing channels, primarily social media platforms.
- Produce high-quality video content, such as interviews, long- and short-form content.
- Support ad hoc content needs across departments, including partnerships, PR, and campaigns.
Project Documentation & Media Management
- Identify and capture photo and video media of project progress, key milestones, innovations, and human-interest stories.
- Own and maintain a structured digital media library for Batam and Bintan projects, ensuring consistent documentation of operations, milestones, and key moments.
Creative Collaboration
- Collaborate closely with the Social Media Manager and wider Marketing Team to plan and execute content aligned with campaign goals and priorities.
- Provide creative direction on-site, including briefing and directing crew members or participants during shoots.
- Proactively contribute content ideas, formats, and storytelling angles, informed by platform trends and performance insights.
Travel & Coverage
- Conduct regular travel to Bintan to ensure consistent content coverage across both project sites.
- Occasionally support regional content needs, including travel to Singapore, Thailand or other locations as required.
What We're Looking For:
- Graduate of Digital Marketing, Visual Communications, or related, is valued but not required
- Experience (professional or personal) in video production and social media content are required
- Photography portfolio is a plus
- Quick to grasp content references and able to adapt them to fit SCS
- Up-to-date with current/trending social media practises
- Interest in environmental and/or other sustainability issues
- Able to work independently in a fast-paced environment
- A flexible and go-getter attitude
- Minimum conversational level of English language (writing, speaking, listening)
- Possesses a passport and is open to travel for work
- Based in Batam or willing to relocate
