Role Summary

As the Digital Commerce Accountant, you will be responsible for managing the financial operations of Wahda's digital platform. You will oversee payment transactions, wallet reconciliations, and financial reporting to ensure all transactions within the platform are processed accurately and efficiently.

You will work closely with the Operations, Customer Support, and Finance teams to support the platform's payment ecosystem while maintaining strong financial controls and compliance

Key Responsibilities: 

  1. Monitor and reconcile daily payment transactions across the Wahda platform. 
  2. Manage merchant payouts, settlements, refunds, chargebacks, and payment adjustments. 
  3. Reconcile payment gateway transactions, digital wallets, and bank accounts. 
  4. Investigate and resolve payment discrepancies and transaction exceptions. 
  5. Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly financial and reconciliation reports. 
  6. Maintain accurate financial records for all platform transactions. 
  7. Support month-end closing and financial reporting related to digital commerce activities. 
  8. Work closely with Product and Engineering teams to improve payment processes and transaction accuracy. 
  9. Collaborate with Customer Support to resolve payment-related enquiries and escalations. 
  10. Ensure compliance with internal financial controls, accounting standards, and applicable regulatory requirements. 
  11. Support audits and provide documentation for payment and financial transactions. 
  12. Identify opportunities to improve finance processes and automate reconciliation activities.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, Finance, Commerce, or a related field. 
  • 3+ years of experience in accounting, finance, e-commerce finance, payment operations, or fintech. 
  • Experience managing payment reconciliations, settlements, and transaction reporting. 
  • Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial controls. 
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel and accounting systems. 
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with high attention to detail. 
  • Experience working with global teams and collaborating across different time zones. 
  • Excellent communication skills in English.
