DevOps Engineer

Job Purpose
- The DevOps Engineer is responsible for designing, implementing, and managing the infrastructure and deployment pipelines that support software development and production environments.
- This role ensures systems&apos reliability, scalability, and security while fostering a culture of automation and continuous improvement. The ideal candidate has strong systems engineering skills, a deep understanding of CI/CD processes, and a collaborative mindset.
Scope of Work and Responsibilities
- Infrastructure Management: Build, maintain, and improve scalable, secure, and highly available cloud infrastructure using tools like Terraform or CloudFormation.
- CI/CD Automation: Design and manage continuous integration and deployment pipelines to streamline software delivery and reduce manual intervention.
- Monitoring & Logging: Set up and maintain robust tracking, logging, and alerting systems to ensure observability and quick incident response.
- Configuration Management: Use tools like Ansible, Chef, or Puppet to manage system configurations and maintain consistency across environments.
- Security & Compliance: Implement best practices and ensure systems comply with internal policies and external regulations.
- Collaboration: Work closely with development, QA, and data teams to ensure infrastructure supports business and product goals.
- Incident Management: Participate in on-call rotations and lead root cause analysis of incidents to improve system resilience.
- Process Improvement: Identify and implement opportunities for automation, cost reduction, and process enhancement across the development lifecycle.
- Agile Practices: Contribute to agile ceremonies and ensure iterative progress aligned with team goals.
Technical Expertise
- Proficiency with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP.
- Experience with containerization and orchestration tools (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes).
- Strong scripting skills in Bash, Python, or similar languages.
- Familiarity with CI/CD tools (e.g., Jenkins, GitLab CI, CircleCI).
- Experience with infrastructure as code (IaC) tools (e.g., Terraform, Pulumi).
- Solid understanding of Linux/Unix systems and networking fundamentals.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 7 years of experience in DevOps, Site Reliability Engineering (SRE), or infrastructure engineering roles.
- Bachelors degree in computer science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field.
- Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication skills and a collaborative attitude.
- Experience in dynamic environments supporting agile software development teams.
- Excellent communication skills in English both verbal and written
