Role Description The Dessert Cafe - Kitchen Leader is a full-time, on-site role based in Surabaya, responsible for overseeing daily kitchen operations in a dessert-focused café environment. This role includes planning and supervising dessert and beverage preparation, ensuring consistent product quality, and maintaining food safety and hygiene standards at all times. The Kitchen Leader will organize kitchen staff schedules, delegate tasks, train team members on recipes and procedures, and monitor inventory levels and ordering of ingredients and supplies. The role also involves collaborating with front-of-house teams to support smooth service, responding to customer feedback related to food quality, and assisting in developing new menu items and seasonal offerings. The Kitchen Leader is expected to model professional behavior, support a positive working environment, and help maintain an efficient, clean, and well-organized kitchen.
Qualifications
  • Strong skills in Food Preparation and Food & Beverage production, with experience in desserts, pastries, or café-style menus.
  • Knowledge of Food Safety standards and practices, including hygiene, sanitation, and proper storage procedures.
  • Experience in Food Service operations, including coordination with front-of-house teams and support for smooth service flow.
  • Customer Service mindset, with the ability to respond to feedback, uphold product quality, and support a positive guest experience.
  • Previous experience in a supervisory or leadership role in a kitchen or café environment is preferred.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced setting, manage multiple tasks, and prioritize effectively.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to train and motivate kitchen staff.
  • Willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays, as required by business needs.
