Job Description

DESIGN INTERN

Studio Presenta is an independent design studio based in Bandung, Indonesia, working across Interior • Furniture • Graphic Design • Creative Direction • Spatial Strategy.

We are looking for a Design Intern to join our studio and take part in the real process of developing design projects, from research and concept development to design documentation and presentation.

This is not a position where you will only be asked to do repetitive production work. You will be expected to observe, learn, contribute ideas, and gradually take responsibility for parts of the design process under the direction of the studio.

What you will do

Depending on the needs of ongoing projects, you may be involved in:

Conducting design research, site studies, and visual references.
Developing concepts, moodboards, diagrams, and design narratives.
Assisting with spatial planning, furniture design, and material studies.
Producing drawings, 3D models, renders, presentations, and other design documentation.
Assisting in the development of graphic, signage, wayfinding, or visual communication materials.
Preparing presentation materials and project documentation.
Supporting design development from concept through detailed design.
Participating in design discussions, reviews, and studio activities.
Assisting with other research and creative tasks related to Studio Presenta's projects and initiatives.

The exact scope will vary depending on your skills and the projects currently being developed.

What we are looking for

We are looking for someone who:

Is currently studying or recently graduated from Interior Design, Architecture, Product/Furniture Design, Graphic Design, Visual Communication Design, or a related field.
Has a genuine curiosity about design beyond aesthetics and trends.
Is comfortable exploring ideas, asking questions, and receiving feedback.
Can think conceptually while paying attention to details.
Is willing to learn unfamiliar tools, methods, and ways of working.
Can work independently when given a clear direction, but is also comfortable working collaboratively.
Has good communication, organization, and time-management skills.
Has a portfolio that demonstrates your thinking and design process, not only finished visuals.

Skills & software

Experience with relevant design software is appreciated, but software proficiency is not the primary consideration.

Depending on your discipline, familiarity with tools such as Adobe Creative Cloud, AutoCAD, SketchUp, Rhino, 3D rendering software, or other design tools is a plus.

More importantly, we want to see how you think, how you observe, and how you solve problems.

What you will experience

During the internship, you will have the opportunity to:

Experience how a professional design studio develops projects in real-world conditions.
Understand the relationship between concept, design development, documentation, and implementation.
Work across different scales and disciplines rather than being limited to a single design category.
Participate in studio discussions and design reviews.
Build a stronger understanding of the professional design process and responsibilities.

Working arrangement

Location: Bandung, West Java, Indonesia

Work arrangement: On-site

Type: Internship

Duration: To be discussed based on the intern's academic and professional requirements.

Please note that this is an unpaid internship. We are currently unable to provide a salary or monthly allowance. The internship is intended as a learning and professional experience within Studio Presenta, with opportunities to contribute to real design projects and build a professional portfolio.
