Design Engineer Supervisor (Automotive)

Responsibilities:

- lead mechanical design and structural concept development for vehicle systems 

- Drive product design from concept through production using strong engineering fundamentals 

- Perform structural analysis: static, dynamic, fatigue, modal simulation (FEA/CAE) 

- Apply first-principles engineering (statics, dynamics, mechanics of materials) to solve complex design challenges 

- Manage and coordinate with Chinese suppliers on component design and manufacturing 

- Translate design concepts into manufacturable 30 CAO with cross-functional integration 

- Mentor and develop junior engineers with hands-on design methodology 

- Establish design best practices and engineering standards for the department 

- Support strategic decision-making as key technical leader 

Requirements:

- Bachelor's or master's degree in mechanical engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or related field 

- Minimum 10 years of mechanical design experience

- Preferred industries: Aerospace, Heavy Equipment, Industrial Machinery, Consumer Products, Medical Devices 

- Exceptional engineering fundamentals: statics, dynamics, mechanics of materials, thermodynamics 

- Expert-level FEA/CAE skills Ansys, Nastran, Abaqus, or equivalent) 

- Proficient in 3D CAD SolidWorks, NX, CATIA, or equivalent) 

- Proven experience managing Chinese suppliers (design coordination, quality, manufacturing) 

- High learning agility and ability to quickly master new domains 

- Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving capability 

- Leadership potential with ability to mentor and develop engineering teams 

- Excellent communication skills for cross-functional collaboration
