We are seeking a Senior PostgreSQL DBA to own the reliability, performance, and security of our PostgreSQL environments across DC/DRC. You will drive HA/DR, backups, tuning, observability, and schema governance to ensure our database platform is scalable, resilient, and audit-ready.
Responsibilities
- Manage PostgreSQL availability, performance, security, and cost across all environments.
- Operate HA/DR: replication, failover orchestration, and DR/BCP drills.
- Ensure backup/PITR readiness with routine restore tests.
- Build observability (Prometheus/Grafana) and tune alerts.
- Perform performance optimization: autovacuum, indexing, bloat control, partitioning, and query tuning.
- Coordinate schema/migrations with Dev teams and ensure Change/CAB compliance.
- Enforce security: roles/privileges, TLS, audit logging, and data retention.
- Manage pooling/routing (PgBouncer, HAProxy) and read/write split.
- Handle capacity planning, housekeeping, and replication slot hygiene.
Requirements
- 1 - 3+ years of hands-on PostgreSQL production experience.
- Strong HA/DR + PITR skills with proven restore tests.
- Solid performance tuning and query optimization.
- Experience with backup tools, Prometheus exporters, and Grafana.
- Linux administration and scripting (Bash/Python).
- PgBouncer + HAProxy experience.
- Strong SQL and RDBMS fundamentals.
Nice to Have
- Logical replication, CDC pipelines, Timescale/Citus, schema tools (Flyway/Liquibase), Vault, and cloud-managed Postgres.
