As a Database Administrator, you will be responsible for managing, maintaining, and optimizing our relational and NoSQL databases. You will work closely with our development and IT teams to ensure our systems run smoothly, securely, and efficiently. Your role will focus on the availability, performance, and scalability of our databases, as well as maintaining backup and recovery procedures to protect company data.
Key Responsibilities:
- Database Management: Install, configure, and maintain database management systems (DBMS) such as MySQL, PostgreSQL, Microsoft SQL Server,MongoDB or Power BI
- Performance Optimization: Monitor and optimize database performance, implementing query tuning, indexing strategies, and database design improvements.
- Backup & Recovery: Design and implement database backup, restore, and disaster recovery strategies to ensure data integrity and minimal downtime.
- Security Management: Ensure database security by managing user access, implementing encryption, and enforcing security best practices.
- Troubleshooting & Support: Identify and resolve database performance issues, deadlocks, and other technical problems.
- Data Integrity: Ensure data consistency and accuracy through integrity checks and validation.
- Documentation: Maintain thorough documentation for database configurations, procedures, and policies.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field
- Proven experience as a Database Administrator (2+ years preferred).
- Experience with relational databases MySQL, PostgreSQL, Microsoft SQL Server,MongoDB or Power BI
- Experience with database backup and recovery solutions.
- Experience with cloud databases (AWS RDS, Google Cloud SQL, Azure SQL Database).
