About the Role
As a Data Governance Specialist at Krom Bank Indonesia, you will be responsible for establishing, implementing, and maintaining robust data governance frameworks to ensure data integrity, security, and compliance across the organization. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams (Engineering, Analytics, Legal, and Business Units) to define policies, enforce standards, and drive a culture of data accountability.
Key Responsibilities:
Data Governance Framework & Policies
- Develop and implement enterprise-wide data governance policies, standards, and procedures.
- Define data ownership, stewardship roles, and accountability structures.
- Align governance practices with regulatory requirements (e.g., BI, OJK, GDPR if applicable).
Metadata & Data Quality Management
- Design and maintain a metadata repository and data catalog for improved discoverability.
- Establish data quality rules, metrics, and monitoring mechanisms.
- Resolve data inconsistencies and enforce data lineage tracking.
Compliance & Risk Management
- Ensure compliance with data privacy laws (PDPA, OJK regulations) and internal policies.
- Conduct data risk assessments and audits; mitigate vulnerabilities.
- Support internal/external audits related to data governance.
Stakeholder Collaboration & Adoption
- Work with Data Engineers, Analysts, and Business Teams to embed governance into workflows.
- Train teams on data governance best practices and tools.
- Advocate for a data-driven culture with clear ownership and accountability.
Tooling & Process Improvement
- Evaluate and implement data governance tools (e.g., Collibra, Alation, Apache Atlas).
- Automate governance processes (e.g., access control, lineage tracking).
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Management, or a related field (Master's preferred)
- 3+ years in Data Governance, Data Management, or Compliance, preferably in banking/fintech.
- Strong knowledge of:
- Data governance frameworks (e.g., DAMA-DMBOK, DCAM).
- Regulatory standards (e.g., OJK, PDPA, Basel III).
- Metadata management, data lineage, and quality tools.
- Experience with SQL, data modeling, and scripting (Python, Bash).
- Familiarity with cloud data platforms (GCP).
- Familiarity with data privacy laws and regulatory requirements.
- Excellent communication, collaboration, and project management skills.
- Ability to influence stakeholders and drive change across departments.
Nice-to-Have:
- Knowledge of data security (encryption, masking, RBAC).
