Job duties
- Quality assurance and review of GIS-based forest measurement data that is collected by our customers and uploaded to Katam's cloud service.
- Follow a semi-automated process for compilation of forest data analysis into high precision forestry reports.
- Be a part of the global Operations-Forestry team, interacting with our internal forestry specialists, sales and R&D team.
Mandatory
- University degree in Geographical Information Science and Engineering, Remote Sensing, Data Science or Forestry Engineering.
- Very good knowledge of GIS and tools such as QGIS.
- Very high computer skills and used to work in a Linux environment.
- Programming skills and knowledge of Python and Python GIS libraries.
- Verbal and written skills in English.
Meritorious
- Knowledge of forest remote sensing techniques is an advantage.
- Experience in practical forest management, inventory and forest management plans.
- Experience in computer vision, photogrammetry mapping or lidar scanning.
