Job Description
About the Role
RedDoorz is launching a new hospitality business unit focused on acquiring and operating 3-star and above hotels across Indonesia.
We are looking for a Corporate General Manager to be the founding leader of this business—someone who can build the business from the ground up, establish a scalable hotel operating model, and drive the commercial performance of the portfolio.
This is not a conventional corporate hotel role. You will have the opportunity to shape the hospitality concept, build the organization and operating foundation, develop the hotel portfolio, and establish strong relationships with hotel owners and investors.
We are looking for a hands-on hospitality leader who combines strong hotel operations expertise, commercial acumen, P&L ownership, and hotel business development capabilities.
Key Responsibilities
1. Build the Hospitality Business & Operating Model
- Lead the establishment of RedDoorz's new 3-star and above hospitality business, including concept, positioning, operating model, and service standards.
- Develop the corporate foundation required to build a scalable hospitality platform, including organization structure, key functions, SOPs, policies, and operating standards.
- Establish practical and commercially relevant hotel operating frameworks that can be replicated across multiple properties.
- Define the standards and capabilities required to deliver consistent guest experience and operational excellence across the portfolio.
2. Lead Portfolio Operations & Business Performance
- Oversee end-to-end performance across Hotel Operations, Commercial, Revenue Management, MICE, F&B, Engineering, and supporting functions.
- Own portfolio-level revenue, GOP/profitability, operational efficiency, guest experience, and overall property performance.
- Develop strategies and action plans to improve hotel performance, translating business objectives into clear targets, measurable impact, and practical execution.
- Establish performance management routines, KPIs, and operating reviews across properties.
- Partner closely with property-level General Managers and functional leaders to drive consistent execution and continuous improvement.
3. Drive Hotel Business Development & Owner Relations
- Identify, evaluate, and pursue opportunities to expand the hotel portfolio.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with hotel owners, investors, property groups, corporations, and strategic partners.
- Lead commercial discussions and negotiations for hotel management agreements, lease arrangements, acquisitions, and other potential partnership models.
- Develop compelling business propositions for hotel owners and investors and lead discussions through to partnership.
- Build a strong pipeline and network to support the long-term expansion of the hospitality business.
What We're Looking For
- Minimum 5–6 years of progressive hospitality experience, with proven managerial-level experience in hotel operations and business performance. (graduates of a reputable Hotel Management Trainee (MT) program with 3–4 years of post-program managerial experience are highly preferred).
- Exposure to an international hotel chain or established hospitality group with strong operating standards is highly preferred.
- Strong experience in the 3-star or above hotel segment; experience managing multiple properties and/or hotel opening, rebranding, or turnaround projects is highly preferred.
- Hands-on understanding across Hotel Operations, Sales, Revenue Management, MICE, F&B, Engineering, and guest experience.
- Ability to translate broad business direction into concrete strategies, clear targets, measurable impact, and realistic execution plans—not simply setting direction or managing teams.
- Proven experience in hotel business development, portfolio expansion, management agreements, lease arrangements, or other hotel partnership models is highly preferred.
- Demonstrated ability to convince and negotiate with hotel owners, investors, property groups, and senior business stakeholders.
- Strong existing network among hotel/property owners, investors, corporations, and strategic business partners will be a significant advantage.
- Strong strategic thinking, commercial acumen, negotiation, leadership, and stakeholder management skills.
- Entrepreneurial mindset with the ability to operate effectively in a build-from-scratch environment, balancing strategy with hands-on execution.
