About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Data Center Commissioning Engineer (Mechanical) to join our mission-critical infrastructure team in Jakarta. The successful candidate will lead and manage mechanical commissioning activities throughout the full lifecycle of data center projects, from design review through integrated systems testing and final handover.
This role requires strong expertise in data center cooling systems, mechanical infrastructure, commissioning methodologies, testing procedures, and operational readiness requirements. The candidate will work closely with clients, consultants, contractors, and project teams to ensure all mechanical systems are commissioned safely and perform according to design and operational requirements.
Responsibilities
Key Responsibilities
- Review project documentation including design drawings, specifications, Basis of Design (BOD), Owner Project Requirements (OPR), method statements, and commissioning checklists.
- Conduct commissionability reviews from concept design through project handover.
- Develop detailed commissioning plans, procedures, and testing strategies.
- Prepare and review Level 2 to Level 5 commissioning scripts and test sheets.
- Coordinate with clients, consultants, contractors, vendors, and stakeholders throughout project execution.
- Lead commissioning and witnessing activities for mechanical infrastructure systems.
- Verify functionality and performance of cooling and HVAC systems supporting mission-critical environments.
- Conduct functional performance testing, integrated systems testing (IST), and failure scenario testing.
- Validate system performance, efficiency, capacity, and operational readiness.
- Ensure successful completion of mechanical system testing, TCCF, authority inspections, and final acceptance activities.
- Verify successful integration of mechanical systems with electrical, controls, BMS, and automation systems.
- Oversee documentation closeout and handover to operations teams and end users.
Required Qualifications
Must-Have Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline.
- Minimum 10 years of experience in mechanical engineering, construction, commissioning, or project delivery.
- Minimum 6 years of direct experience commissioning data center facilities.
- Strong understanding of mission-critical mechanical infrastructure and cooling systems.
- Experience with:

- CRAH/CRAC Units
- HVAC Systems
- Cooling Towers
- Pumps and Hydronic Systems
- Building Management Systems (BMS)
- Mechanical Automation and Controls
- Experience conducting functional performance testing and integrated systems testing (IST).
- Familiarity with:
- ASHRAE
- NFPA
- Uptime Institute Standards
- TIA-942
- Excellent stakeholder management and coordination skills.
- Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities.
