Job Description

Position Overview:

The Commercial Manager is responsible for leading and overseeing all commercial, financial, and contractual aspects of the mining operations. This includes budgeting, cost control, procurement, contract negotiation, vendor management, financial planning, and ensuring compliance with mining regulations and corporate governance standards. The role plays a key part in optimizing project economics, supporting operational efficiency, and maintaining positive relationships with internal and external stakeholders.

Key Responsibility:

  • Optimizing financial and commercial performance by driving cost control, budget accuracy, and effective capital allocation to maximize profitability.
  • Managing contracts and procurement by negotiating, renewing, and enforcing compliance of all agreements to secure best commercial value and mitigate risks.
  • Delivering accurate financial analysis, forecasts, and reports to support management in strategic planning and decision-making.
  • Ensuring compliance and governance by aligning all commercial activities with Indonesian mining regulations, financial standards, and company policies.
  • Strengthening vendor and stakeholder relationships through effective engagement, negotiation, and collaboration with suppliers, contractors, regulators, and communities.
  • Driving efficiency and innovation by implementing process improvements, digital solutions, and industry best practices to enhance commercial effectiveness.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business, Finance, or related field.
  • Master's degree in Business/Finance or professional qualifications (CFA, CPA, CIMA) preferred.
  • Minimum 10 years in commercial, financial, or project control roles, with at least 5 years in gold, or other mining industries.
  • Proven experience in contract negotiation, financial planning, and procurement management.
  • Strong background in cost control, budgeting, and project economics.
  • In-depth knowledge of mining industry regulations in Indonesia.
  • Strong leadership and stakeholder management skills.
  • Analytical and problem-solving abilities with financial modelling expertise.
  • Proficiency in ERP systems, financial software, and reporting tools.
