Job Description
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in a coal testing laboratory, with at least 2 years in a managerial or supervisory role within QA/QC.
- Strong understanding of international coal testing standards.
- Proven ability to oversee the entire QA process, from sampling and laboratory testing to loading and certification.
- Excellent communication skills, detail-oriented, high integrity, and able to collaborate effectively across multiple functions, including Sales, Operations, Traffic, and Surveyors.
- Strong technical report writing and presentation skills, with the ability to present QA findings to management.
- Willing to work from our office in Pluit, North Jakarta.
Job Descriptions:
- Design, implement, and evaluate an integrated coal quality management system to ensure all QA operational processes are well-structured and standardized.
- Develop, monitor, and ensure strict implementation of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for testing, sampling, and quality control across mining sites, ports, and laboratories.
- Oversee the quality of coal prepared for shipment to ensure compliance with technical specifications agreed upon in commercial contracts with buyers.
- Lead, coordinate, and supervise the daily technical activities of the QA team, surveyors, and laboratory personnel to ensure alignment with shipment schedules and operational standards.
- Review, verify, and approve laboratory analysis results and Certificates of Analysis (COA) before they are issued and submitted to buyers.
- Conduct periodic evaluations of non-conformities, perform root cause analysis, and establish effective corrective and preventive actions.
- Identify, manage, and resolve quality deviations that occur during sampling and shipment processes to prevent recurrence in future cargoes.
- Analyze coal quality parameters, including COA and blending results, to support the commercial and sales teams in developing marketing strategies and fulfilling buyer contract requirements.
- Establish effective communication and lead technical discussions or negotiations with buyers, independent surveyors, and external laboratories regarding quality claims or analytical discrepancies.
- Manage, maintain, and document historical coal quality data accurately to support operational performance analysis and management reporting.
