Cloud Security Engineer
The Cloud Security Engineer is responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining security controls across the organization's cloud infrastructure. This role ensures that all cloud-based systems, applications, and data are protected against internal and external threats while maintaining compliance with applicable regulatory and industry standards.
The incumbent will work closely with Cloud Engineering, DevOps, Infrastructure, and Compliance teams to embed security best practices into the cloud architecture and operational processes.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 35 years of experience in Information Security, Cloud Security, or Cloud Engineering.
- Proven hands-on experience securing cloud environments in enterprise settings.
- Experience in incident response and security operations within cloud platforms.
Technical Competencies
- Strong understanding of cloud security architecture and shared responsibility models.
- Proficiency in:
- Identity and Access Management (IAM)
- Network security (VPC, VPN, Firewalls, Zero Trust Architecture)
- Encryption and Key Management Services
- Cloud-native security tools
- Experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools (e.g., Terraform, CloudFormation).
- Familiarity with container and Kubernetes security.
- Knowledge of security monitoring and SIEM solutions.
- Understanding of security frameworks and best practices (NIST, CIS Controls, ISO 27001).
- Scripting or automation skills (e.g., Python, Bash) are preferred.
