The Role :
- Design Cloud Solutions: Architect cloud-based infrastructure and solutions that meet the organization's technical, business, and security requirements.
- Cloud Strategy & Migration: Develop and implement a cloud strategy, including migration of on-premises applications to the cloud. Lead cloud adoption initiatives and cloud transformation projects.
- Cloud Infrastructure Management: Oversee the deployment, monitoring, and management of cloud environments. Ensure high availability, disaster recovery, and optimal performance.
- Integration & Automation: Implement cloud automation, infrastructure-as-code (IAC), and DevOps practices to streamline cloud operations. Integrate cloud platforms with on-premises systems and third-party services.
- Security & Compliance: Define and implement security practices for cloud environments, ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations such as GDPR, HIPAA, etc.
- Cost Optimization: Manage cloud resource usage and optimize cloud spend through proper resource planning, budgeting, and performance tuning.
- Collaboration: Work with development, operations, and security teams to create scalable solutions. Provide technical guidance and leadership to junior cloud engineers and other team members.
- Evaluate Cloud Technologies: Research and evaluate new cloud technologies and tools to improve the cloud infrastructure, security, and operational efficiency.
- Documentation & Reporting: Maintain thorough documentation of cloud architectures, configurations, and processes. Provide regular status reports and updates to senior management.
The Requirements :
Education
- A degree in Computer Science, IT, or a related field (preferred but not always required).
Experience
- 5+ years of experience in IT, with at least 2 years in cloud computing or related areas.
Key Skills
- Cloud Platforms: Knowledge of AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
- Programming: Basics of coding in Python, Java, or similar languages.
- Networking: Understanding of cloud networking (e.g., VPCs, load balancers).
- Security: Familiarity with identity and access management (IAM) and basic security measures.
- DevOps: Experience with automation tools like Terraform or containerization (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes).
- Monitoring: Ability to monitor cloud systems and optimize costs.
Certifications (Preferred)
- AWS Solutions Architect, Azure Architect, or Google Cloud Architect certifications.
