Monroe Consulting Group Indonesia, an executive recruitment consultant company, is recruiting on behalf of a well-rounded industrial company with a strong presence and growing portfolio of high-tech industrial projects across the region. As part of its continued business expansion and commitment to strengthening its engineering capabilities, our client is seeking an experienced Engineering Director / Chief of Engineering – High-Tech Facilities & Cleanroom to lead engineering strategy and technical execution across complex industrial and advanced manufacturing projects. This position will be based in Jakarta, Indonesia, with expatriate candidates with relevant regional experience also encouraged to apply.
Responsibilities:
- Lead the overall engineering strategy and technical direction for high-tech industrial, advanced manufacturing, and cleanroom projects.
- Provide technical leadership across the full project lifecycle, including design, engineering, construction, commissioning, and project execution.
- Establish and maintain engineering standards, technical procedures, design guidelines, and quality assurance processes across projects.
- Lead multidisciplinary engineering teams covering mechanical, electrical, plumbing, process utilities, HVAC, cleanroom, and other critical facility systems.
- Provide technical expertise and support during business development, client engagement, project tendering, and proposal development.
- Work closely with clients, consultants, contractors, equipment vendors, and internal project teams to ensure technical excellence and successful project delivery.
- Review and provide technical direction on engineering designs, specifications, calculations, and project solutions to ensure compliance with applicable standards and client requirements.
- Drive engineering innovation, operational excellence, and continuous improvement across the organization and project portfolio.
- Identify and manage key technical risks throughout project development and execution, ensuring effective mitigation and resolution.
- Serve as a senior technical advisor to management and clients on complex engineering solutions, project requirements, and facility design considerations.
- Lead, mentor, and develop engineering talent while building a strong technical culture and high-performing multidisciplinary engineering organization.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial, Chemical Engineering, or a related engineering discipline.
- Minimum 15 years of engineering experience, with significant leadership responsibility in delivering complex industrial, high-tech, or advanced manufacturing facilities.
- Strong hands-on experience in cleanroom engineering and contamination-controlled environments.
- Proven experience working on semiconductor manufacturing facilities, pharmaceutical or biotechnology facilities, electronics manufacturing, mission-critical infrastructure, or other advanced manufacturing environments.
- Strong technical knowledge of HVAC systems, process utilities, cleanroom standards, MEP systems, commissioning, and integrated facility design.
- Proven experience leading multidisciplinary engineering teams across large-scale EPC, design-build, or complex industrial projects.
- Strong understanding of engineering project management, technical standards, quality assurance, and construction/commissioning processes.
- Demonstrated ability to engage directly with clients, consultants, contractors, and other stakeholders on complex technical requirements and engineering solutions.
- Strong strategic leadership, problem-solving, stakeholder management, and communication skills.
- Experience working across APAC markets is highly desirable.
- Strong command of English and Bahasa Indonesia is preferred.
