Job Purpose
The Chief Financial Officer (CFO) is responsible for providing strategic financial leadership to the Indonesia business, ensuring sound financial management, governance, and business performance. The CFO serves as a key member of the executive leadership team, partnering with the CEO of International Business, Country MD and Mitr Phol CFO in Thailand to drive sustainable growth, optimize financial performance, and ensure compliance with Indonesian regulations and Group financial policies.
Job Description
1. Strategic Financial Leadership
- Develop and execute the financial strategy aligned with Indonesia business objectives and Mitr Phol direction.
- Provide financial insights, financial models, scenario analysis, and recommendations to support strategic planning, decision-making and long-term growth.
- Drive value creation through improvement of profitability, cash generation, ROIC, and shareholder returns and support management in achieving EBITDA, Profit Before Tax and Cash Flow targets.
2. Financial Planning & Performance Management
- Lead the annual budgeting, forecasting, and long-range financial planning processes.
- Monitor and analyze key financial and operational performance indicators and recommend corrective actions where necessary for 4 sugar mills and supporting operations.
- Cost management through monitoring of sugar production costs, manufacturing efficiencies, supply chain costs, and commercial margins.
3. Financial Reporting & Group Consolidation
- Ensure timely and accurate preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
- Coordinate financial reporting to the Group Finance function in Thailand in accordance with Group reporting requirements.
- Ensure consistency between local statutory reporting and Group financial reporting.
4. Treasury & Cash Flow Management
- Oversee cash flow planning, liquidity management, and working capital optimization.
- Manage banking relationships, financing arrangements, and foreign exchange exposure.
- Ensure sufficient funding for operational and strategic business requirements.
- Monitor financial risks and recommend mitigation strategies.
5. Financial Governance, Risk & Internal Control
- Ensure compliance with Indonesian accounting standards, taxation, statutory regulations, and Group policies.
- Coordinate internal and external audits and ensure timely resolution of audit findings.
6. Tax & Regulatory Compliance
- Oversee corporate taxation, transfer pricing, customs, and statutory compliance.
- Maintain strong relationships with external auditors, tax advisors, regulators, and government authorities.
7. Business Partnering & JV Management
- Support pricing strategies, investment evaluations, capital expenditure decisions, and operational efficiency initiatives.
- Provide financial analysis for new business opportunities and major commercial negotiations.
- Lead financial discussions and negotiations with JV partners on strategic initiatives, business expansion, and investment opportunities.
- Build and maintain strong working relationships with JV partners, ensuring transparency, trust, and alignment on financial and business matters.
- Identify and proactively manage financial, commercial, and governance risks associated with joint venture operations.
8. Group Collaboration
- Ensure effective implementation of Group financial policies, governance frameworks, and reporting standards.
- Initiate Indonesia finance initiatives, system implementations, productivity improvement opportunities and cost optimization initiatives.
9. Leadership & Team Development
- Lead and direct all finance activities across the Indonesia Sugar Business.
- Partner with Country Management and Group CFO Thailand in developing business strategies and opportunities, also long-term financial plans.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or higher in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business Administration, or a related discipline. Professional certifications such as CPA, CA, ACCA, CFA, or equivalent are highly desirable.
- Proven track record with 15+ years of progressive experience in Finance and Accounting, including a minimum of 5 years in a senior leadership role such as Finance Director, Chief Financial Officer (CFO), or equivalent.
- Industry experience in manufacturing, agribusiness, sugar, food processing, commodities, or other industrial sectors is strongly preferred.
- Exposure to multinational corporations, regional headquarters, or joint venture environments, with the ability to navigate complex business structures and stakeholder landscapes.
- Demonstrated success partnering with executive leadership teams and Boards of Directors to drive strategic business decisions and sustainable growth.
- Exceptional stakeholder management, communication, and influencing capabilities, with experience leading across diverse and multicultural organizations.
- Strong expertise in financial planning and analysis, including budgeting, forecasting, financial modeling, business performance management, and strategic decision support.
- Deep understanding of treasury operations, cash flow optimization, working capital management, and capital investment evaluation.
- Familiarity with Indonesian Financial Accounting Standards (PSAK), taxation, and corporate regulatory requirements is an advantage.
