PT. Midplaza Prima is seeking an experienced and highly skilled Chief Engineer to lead our engineering team. The Chief Engineer will manage and ensure that all building systems and equipment, including the plant room and clean water systems, are functioning properly and maintained in accordance with established standards and the approved operational budget. This leadership role requires a strong background in engineering, proven management skills, and the ability to coordinate interdisciplinary teams to achieve project goals.
Responsibilities:
- Ensure all preventive and corrective maintenance activities for building systems and equipment are carried out properly and completed on schedule
- Monitor the usage of materials, maintenance costs, and operational expenses to maintain efficiency
- Prepare and manage the annual operational and maintenance budget, including monitoring all related expenses
- Review and manage maintenance contracts with vendors and suppliers, including handling negotiation processes
- Ensure all licenses, permits, and certifications related to building operations and equipment remain valid and compliant with regulations
- Develop and conduct training programs for maintenance and engineering staff to improve technical skills and performance
- Stay updated with the latest technology and best practices related to building maintenance and engineering systems
- Initiate and implement continuous improvements to increase operational efficiency and effectiveness
- Ensure the availability of equipment, spare parts, and materials to support operational needs
- Supervise renovation, repair, and project work within the building area, both from internal teams and external contractors
- Monitor and improve the productivity and performance of all engineering and maintenance staff
- Prepare regular reports for management regarding engineering operations, maintenance activities, and project progress
Requirements
- Minimum Diploma (D3) in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering, or other related fields
- Minimum 5 years of experience in building engineering or maintenance operations, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or Chief Engineering role
- Strong knowledge of building operational systems, including electrical systems, HVAC, plumbing, generators, pumps, STP, and plant room operations
- Experienced in planning and implementing preventive maintenance programs to ensure smooth and reliable operations
- Good understanding of engineering budget management, operational cost control, and material/spare part utilization
- Experienced in coordinating with vendors and contractors, including handling maintenance agreements and negotiation processes
- Familiar with occupational health & safety (K3), operational permits, and compliance related to building systems and equipment
- Strong leadership, communication, problem-solving, and team management skills
- Able to prepare engineering operational reports and provide analysis to support management decisions
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and engineering administrative processes
- Detail-oriented, proactive, and committed to maintaining high operational and service standards.
