We are hiring a Technical Superintendent to oversee the technical management of a fleet of tanker vessels, ensuring safe, efficient, and cost-effective vessel operations while maintaining full compliance with international maritime regulations and company standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the day-to-day technical operations of assigned tanker vessels.
- Oversee planned maintenance, repairs, dry-docking, and technical inspections.
- Ensure compliance with Class, Flag State, IMO, MARPOL, SOLAS, and ISM Code requirements.
- Monitor vessel performance, machinery reliability, and technical KPIs.
- Manage repair and maintenance budgets, cost control, and procurement of technical spares.
- Coordinate with Masters, Chief Engineers, shipyards, vendors, and service providers for technical support.
- Review technical reports, defect lists, and machinery breakdowns, implementing corrective actions where required.
- Ensure timely completion of statutory surveys, certifications, and technical audits.
- Conduct vessel visits and technical inspections to maintain operational standards.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance fleet reliability, safety, and efficiency.
Looking For
- Chief Engineer (Class I COC) with recent sailing experience on oil, chemical, or product tanker vessels.
- Fresh Chief Engineers looking to transition into a shore-based Technical Superintendent role are encouraged to apply.
- Strong technical knowledge of tanker machinery, planned maintenance systems (PMS), and vessel operations.
- Good understanding of ISM Code, SOLAS, MARPOL, Class, and Flag State requirements.
