Job Summary**
Responsible for the safe and efficient transportation of live chicks within the company's operational areas, ensuring their well-being and timely delivery.
Job Responsibilities**
- Operate and maintain specialized chick vans in a safe and responsible manner, adhering to all traffic laws and company policies.
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle, reporting any defects or issues promptly.
- Ensure proper loading and unloading of chick crates, minimizing stress and injury to the chicks.
- Monitor environmental conditions within the van (temperature, ventilation) to ensure optimal conditions for chick transport.
- Maintain accurate records of mileage, fuel consumption, and delivery details.
- Communicate effectively with dispatch, farm staff, and other relevant personnel.
- Adhere to strict biosecurity protocols to prevent the spread of diseases.
- Perform routine cleaning and sanitization of the vehicle.
- Respond to emergencies or unexpected situations during transportation.
Job Qualifications**
- Valid Heavy Commercial (HC) or Pink Light Commercial (PNKLN LADA) driver's license with a clean driving record.
- Minimum 2 years of experience in commercial driving, preferably with livestock or fragile goods.
- Knowledge of vehicle maintenance and basic troubleshooting.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong commitment to animal welfare and safety.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Physically fit and able to lift and move heavy objects (chick crates).
- Willingness to work flexible hours, including early mornings, evenings, and weekends as required.
- Understanding of biosecurity principles is a plus.
