Job Description

The Role

This is the CEO's right hand and the company's swiss army knife. One week you might be building a board deck; the next you're sourcing hardware from suppliers in China, negotiating an office lease, or flying to a client site to unblock a deal. There is no that's not my job in this role.

You will operate at the intersection of strategy and execution — with heavy emphasis on execution. At a 50-person company scaling to 100+, the Chief of Staff is the person who makes sure nothing falls through the cracks, whether that's a strategic initiative or a logistics problem that just needs someone resourceful to solve it.

This role reports directly to the CEO and offers unparalleled visibility into every part of the business. It is ideal for a resourceful operator who thrives on variety, moves fast in ambiguity, and gets energy from solving problems — big or small — that nobody else is picking up.

What You Will Do

No two weeks will look the same. Here is a realistic picture of the range:

Strategy & Planning

• Partner with the CEO to set company OKRs, quarterly priorities, and annual plans

• Prepare board materials, investor updates, and strategic presentations

• Build business cases for new verticals, market entry, pricing changes, or partnerships

• Run competitive analysis, market sizing, and other strategic research as needed

Cross-Functional Execution

• Run the company's operating rhythm — leadership meetings, all-hands, QBRs, and retrospectives

• Track execution against goals; identify bottlenecks and clear them before they escalate

• Be the connective tissue between Product, Engineering, Sales, Customer Success, and Finance

• Step in to directly manage workstreams that don't have a natural owner yet

Ad-Hoc Operations & Problem Solving

• Source and negotiate with vendors — hardware suppliers in China, service providers, software tools, event venues, whatever the company needs

• Handle operational fire drills: a client escalation that needs immediate coordination, a shipment stuck in customs, a contract that needs to close by Friday

• Manage office/facilities logistics across our Singapore, Jakarta, Bangalore, and Bangkok locations

• Set up and manage operational processes that don't exist yet (procurement, vendor management, internal tooling)

• Evaluate, negotiate, and manage relationships with outsourced service providers and contractors

• Do the unglamorous work that keeps a scaling company running — no task is too small if it matters

CEO Leverage

• Act as a trusted sounding board on key decisions — hiring, product bets, partnerships, market expansion

• Pre-process information and prepare decision memos so the CEO can move faster

• Represent the CEO with external stakeholders, partners, and investors when needed

• Protect the CEO's time and ensure focus on the highest-leverage activities

Growth Initiatives

• Coordinate US market entry across sales, marketing, product, legal, and operations

• Support fundraising — data rooms, financial models, due diligence, investor scheduling

• Evaluate strategic partnerships, channel deals, and potential M&A

• Scout and set up local operations in new markets (office space, banking, legal entities, hiring)

People & Culture

• Help scale the team from 50 to 100+ — hiring strategy, onboarding, culture-building

• Drive internal communications and keep the distributed team aligned

• Champion Nimbly's core values: Customer Centric, Empathy, Adaptability, Responsibility

What You BringMust-Have

• 5–10 years of experience in high-growth startups, management consulting, venture capital, or operating roles where you wore multiple hats

• A get it done mentality — you don't wait for permission or perfect information; you figure it out

• Comfortable context-switching between a board presentation at 10am and a vendor negotiation at 2pm

• Strong analytical skills — financial modeling, data analysis, business case development

• Excellent communication — you can write a concise investor memo and also get a supplier on WeChat to expedite a shipment

• High EQ and organizational savvy — you build trust quickly across functions, cultures, and seniority levels

• Willingness to travel across SEA and occasionally to the US or China as needed

• Comfort with ambiguity, scrappiness, and the reality that startups require doing whatever needs to be done

Nice-to-Have

• Experience in B2B SaaS, operations technology, or enterprise software

• Prior experience working across Southeast Asian markets (Indonesia, Thailand, Philippines, Malaysia)

• Mandarin proficiency (useful for China-based vendor relationships)

• MBA or management consulting background (MBB or top-tier firm)

• Experience with fundraising (Series A/B) or investor relations

• Familiarity with F&B, retail, or multi-location business operations

• Proficiency in Bahasa Indonesia, Thai, or other SEA languages
