Position Description:

Responsible for the design and implementation of sourcing strategies to maximize savings of Procurement orders. The Category Specialist are manages supplier relationships, defines supplier segmentation and sourcing, conducts demand planning, and drives innovation in achieving savings (e.g., developing frame agreements, negotiation packs, etc.). The Category Specialist role requires strong understanding of SCM market conditions, category strategy process/methodologies, and familiarity with spend data handling in order to deliver intended savings achievement.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Conduct in-depth spend analysis to identify optimization levers and cost-saving opportunities within the assigned category.
  • Develop and implement category-specific sourcing strategies, ensuring alignment with overall business goals and category management objectives.
  • Engage in negotiations with suppliers to secure favorable terms and develop framework agreements that offer long-term value.
  • Identify and onboard new suppliers to diversify the supply base, enhance competitiveness, and reduce risk.
  • Manage supplier performance by conducting regular reviews and evaluations to ensure adherence to contract terms, quality standards, and delivery timelines.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders (e.g., Engineering, Construction, PPM) to ensure category strategies are well-integrated with project needs.
  • Monitor market trends, price movements, and supply risks, adjusting strategies as necessary to maintain a competitive edge.
  • Assist in preparing and executing tenders, ensuring competitive pricing and compliance with both technical and commercial requirements.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor Degree in Mechanical/Electrical/Instrument Engineering (Master's Degree is a plus).
  • Have 8-10 YOE with lots of exposure in rotating equipment Engineering for Mechanical Group.
  • Experience in Supply Chain Management, esp. vendor negotiations as well as sourcing planning and execution is essential.
  • Solid knowledge in commercial projects with working experience with other business units.
  • Experience of working on MS Office tools Excel, Word, Power-point, SAP experience preferred.
  • Capable of maintaining professionalism, efficiency, and composure in high-pressure situations.
