The company delivers a comprehensive suite of logistics solutions including project cargo, integrated logistics, freight forwarding, and port agency services to a wide range of corporate and industrial clients across Indonesia.
As the business continues to grow its commercial footprint in Indonesia, particularly in serving Chinese-affiliated enterprises and Mandarin-speaking clients, they are seeking a commercially driven Business Development Manager to spearhead new business acquisition and deepen key client relationships.
Role Summary
The Business Development Manager will play a pivotal commercial role in driving the company's revenue growth, client acquisition strategy, and market expansion efforts across Indonesia. This role is specifically designed for a candidate who is fluent in Mandarin and carries working knowledge of the logistics or shipping industry, with the ability to engage and win Mandarin-speaking clients, Chinese-owned enterprises, and project cargo stakeholders operating across Indonesia.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead business development efforts targeting Mandarin-speaking clients, Chinese-affiliated companies, and BRI/EPC-linked projects across Indonesia
- Build and manage relationships with key decision-makers including C-level executives, procurement heads, and operations leaders within target accounts
- Promote and position the company's full service portfolio — including project cargo, integrated logistics, ship agency, and freight forwarding — to prospective and existing clients
- Develop and execute a structured commercial growth plan to drive revenue targets and expand the client portfolio
- Collaborate with internal operations and overseas offices to craft competitive, client-specific logistics solutions
- Monitor market trends, new project pipelines, and competitor activity within the logistics and shipping landscape
- Report on pipeline activity, business performance, and strategic opportunities to senior leadership
Key Requirements
- Fluent in Mandarin (spoken and written)
- Background or working knowledge in logistics, shipping, freight forwarding, or supply chain
- 5–10 years of experience in B2B sales, business development, or commercial roles within a logistics or related industry
- Proven ability to independently identify, pursue, and close commercial opportunities within complex B2B environments
- Strong relationship-building skills with the ability to engage and influence senior enterprise stakeholders
- Commercially driven and self-motivated, with a structured approach to pipeline and account management
- Comfortable operating in a fast-paced, target-driven, and entrepreneurial business environment
