Job Title: Business Development Manager Medical Tourism

Role Summary:
We are seeking an experienced and entrepreneurial Business Development Manager to lead medical tourism outreach in Indonesia. This role focuses on driving patient referrals and establishing a local referral center to support end-to-end patient coordination. The position plays a pivotal role in growing presence and building reputation in the Indonesian market.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Marketing Strategy & Patient Acquisition
- Develop and execute localized B2C and B2B marketing campaigns to promote hospital specialties and services.
- Create patient education content, lead generation funnels, and targeted outreach programs across digital, social media, and offline channels.
- Organize awareness events, webinars, and health talks to engage prospective patients and communities.
2. Partnership & Ecosystem Development
- Build and manage strong referral networks with local clinics, general practitioners, specialists, and health consultants.
- Collaborate with medical travel agents, corporate HR/insurance providers, and wellness centers to expand patient outreach.
3. Setup and Management of Referral Center
- Lead planning and establishment of a referral center in Jakarta or other strategic locations.
- Oversee setup, staffing, SOP development, and operational readiness of the referral center.
- Ensure the center provides information, pre-consultation coordination, appointment booking, and support for travel and documentation.
- Train and supervise referral center staff to provide excellent customer service and timely communication with hospital teams abroad.
4. Digital Presence & Community Engagement
- Manage local social media accounts and digital ads to raise visibility and patient inquiries.
- Localize hospital branding and messaging for the Indonesian audience.
- Coordinate with content and creative teams to produce engaging multimedia assets.
5. Market Intelligence & Performance Tracking
- Conduct competitor benchmarking, consumer trend analysis, and healthcare market research.
- Monitor campaign ROI, patient feedback, and referral trends to optimize strategy.
- Provide regular reports to regional leadership and stakeholders.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Healthcare Administration, Business, or related field.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in marketing, business development, or healthcare (preferably in medical tourism, hospitals, or international patient services).
- Experience setting up or managing customer service or referral centers is a strong advantage.
- Strong understanding of Indonesian healthcare consumer behavior and market nuances.
- Excellent networking, communication, and negotiation skills in both Bahasa Indonesia and English.
- Digital marketing knowledge and familiarity with CRM tools is preferred.
