SAPCO Global is expanding our footprint in Southeast Asia and are now looking for a commercially driven Business Development Manager to lead our growth in Indonesia.
The Opportunity
This is a foundational role for our Indonesia market. You will own the country's commercial strategy from day one — opening up new accounts, building distribution channels, and growing volume across our full product range. As the business scales, you will have the opportunity to build and lead a local team.
What You'll Do
- Develop and execute the Indonesia go-to-market strategy across bitumen, base oils, finished lubricants, petrochemicals, and additives
- Identify and win business with large industrial end users, distributors, blenders, and small importers across the country
- Build and manage a pipeline of long-term customer relationships
- Negotiate commercial terms, manage import documentation, and coordinate shipments with our Middle East office
- Represent SAPCO Global at industry events, exhibitions, and customer meetings throughout Indonesia
- Provide market intelligence — pricing trends, competitor activity, regulatory shifts — back to head office
- Build and lead a local sales team as the business grows
What You Bring
Experience
- 3–5+ years in B2B sales or business development within petrochemicals, lubricants, base oils, bitumen, or related industrial raw materials
- Proven track record selling across a broad product portfolio
- Full ownership of the sales cycle: prospecting, technical discussion, negotiation, closing, and account management
- Working knowledge of import documentation, Incoterms, and trade finance instruments (LCs, etc.)
Industry Knowledge
- Broad technical understanding of lubricants and petrochemical products sufficient to hold credible conversations with technical buyers and end users
- Familiarity with Indonesian market dynamics, regulatory environment, and key industry players
- Network (Strongly Preferred)
- Established relationships with Indonesian market participants/players, industrial distributors, importers and traders.
Languages
Professional working proficiency in English (for daily coordination with Middle East office and supplier documentation)

- Soft Skills
- Strong negotiator with commercial instinct
- Excellent relationship-management skills
- Self-starter comfortable working independently in a remote setup
- Leadership potential — you'll be building a team
What We Offer
