Job Description
Company Description
Melesat Advisory is a boutique financial advisory firm for small and medium businesses in Jabodetabek. We help owners clean up cash flow, understand margins by product, organise financial records, and get ready for bank or multifinance funding. Our work is built on how lenders actually read a business, so owners know where they stand before they apply.
Role Description
The Business Development Intern builds our client pipeline from zero. You will find the businesses worth talking to, open the conversation, and keep the pipeline organised.
This is a part-time internship of 2 to 3 months with a monthly stipend. The work is done remotely, with one in-person catch-up every Friday in Jakarta to go through the week's progress.
You will not give financial advice or make any promise about a loan. That part stays with us.
Responsibilities
- Build and maintain a list of target companies from LinkedIn and public sources, including the name of the decision maker.
- Send introduction messages and follow up consistently.
- Book introductory calls and prepare short briefs before each one.
- Keep the pipeline tracker current and report the numbers every week.
- Research a sector before we speak to a prospect in it.
Qualifications
- Currently in semester 6 or above, or a recent graduate, with a background in accounting or financial management.
- A good grasp of financial analysis: able to look at a set of financials and say what is actually going on, not just what the numbers are.
- Comfortable with the three core financial statements — profit and loss, balance sheet, and cash flow.
- Clear written Indonesian, and enough English to read our material.
- Comfortable finding information nobody handed you.
- Organised, because you will own a list of several hundred companies.
- Able to send 20 outreach messages a week and treat no as a normal answer.
- Familiar with Excel or Google Sheets.
- Based in Jabodetabek and able to attend the Friday catch-up in person.
Nice to have
- Experience running sponsorship, a student committee, or selling anything at all.
- Experience using LinkedIn to find people, not only to apply for jobs.
What you get
- Live client work from the first week, not a research assignment that gets filed away.
- Exposure to how SME financials are assessed before a loan application.
- A portfolio built on your own numbers.
- A reference letter based on results.
- A monthly stipend, and the option to continue part-time if it works out.
How to apply
Send your CV to[Confidential Information] with the subject BD Intern — Your Name.
- If you would like to stand out, add a short list of 5 distribution or manufacturing companies in Jabodetabek with 11 to 200 employees, the name of their finance contact if you can find it, and one paragraph on why you picked them. This is close to the actual work, so it tells us more than a CV does.
