Role Overview
The Business Development Executive (Indonesia) is an entrepreneurial commercial leader responsible for building the company's venue partnership presence across the Indonesian market from the ground up. This is a market-entry role requiring someone with the drive to open doors, the commercial intelligence to close partnerships, and the operational discipline to build a structured pipeline in a developing market.
Key Responsibilities
- Build a venue partnership network across Jakarta, Bali, Bintan, Batam, Lombok, and other emerging Indonesian MICE markets.
- Develop and execute a structured business development strategy targeting hotel management companies as priority portfolio-level partnership opportunities.
- Build relationships with General Managers, Directors of Sales, Directors of MICE & Events, and hotel ownership group representatives at target properties.
- Negotiate and close venue partnership agreements.
- Identify hotel refurbishment projects, new property openings, and systems integration opportunities, with a focus on LED wall installations and permanent AV/AVL infrastructure upgrades.
- Develop and manage a structured CRM pipeline from initial prospecting through signed agreements and successful project delivery.
- Represent the company at hospitality industry events, MICE exhibitions, and hotel association forums across Indonesia.
- Collaborate closely with regional operations and production teams to ensure commercial commitments are aligned with operational capabilities.
- Provide regular pipeline reporting, market intelligence, competitive insights, venue refurbishment updates, and ownership group developments to regional leadership.
- Participate in regular sales meetings and regional reporting cadences.
- Identify and onboard referral partners, including hotel consultants, architects, fit-out contractors, and hospitality advisors.
What We're Looking For
- 4–6+ years of commercial experience in hospitality, MICE, event production, audiovisual (AV), or hotel management, preferably with exposure to multiple Indonesian markets.
- Entrepreneurial mindset with the ability to establish and grow a commercial presence in a developing market.
- Strong network within Indonesia's hotel and MICE industry, particularly in Jakarta, is highly advantageous.
- Solid understanding of the Indonesian hotel ownership landscape and the ability to engage decision-makers at management company, ownership group, and property levels.
- Self-driven, commercially confident, and capable of executing business development strategies independently.
- Knowledge of AV, event production, and systems integration, with the ability to identify infrastructure upgrade and installation opportunities.
- Proficiency in both English and Bahasa Indonesia, with the ability to conduct senior-level commercial discussions.
- Experience using CRM platforms (HubSpot experience is an advantage).
- Willingness to travel extensively across Indonesia and occasionally within the region for business engagements.
