Job Description
(Freelance) B2B Sales, custom software.
Somewhere in this city there is a business owner still counting stock by hand at ten at night, because the system that would do it for her does not exist yet.
Your job is to find her, and to be the person who finally understands what she needs.
We are BMS Services. We build custom software for Indonesian businesses and for a handful of Dutch ones. POS and inventory, HRIS, CRM, dashboards, workflow automation. Underneath the labels we sell one thing: freedom. The owner gets his/her evenings back. The business that could never open a second branch, because nobody could keep track of three, finally opens it. That is the conversation you get to have, and it is a good one to be paid for.
What you sell
No price list. No spec sheet to compete on. You win these deals by being the person who understood the business best, which is a far better way to win.
The work is a run of conversations. You dig into how the company actually operates, our business analyst turns that into a requirements document, and then we talk money. A few meetings, each one worth having.
And the variety is real. In a single month you might sit with a coffee chain, a fabric supplier, a skincare brand and a workshop. All of them run differently. You get to look inside every one.
We sell websites too. Those close in weeks rather than months, and a website is very often how a custom software conversation begins.
What the job asks of you
- Move fast. Fifteen minutes to reply during working hours. Speed wins more deals here than polish ever will.
- Hunt. LinkedIn, Threads, X, WhatsApp groups, events, introductions over coffee. When somebody posts publicly that they are looking for a vendor, we want you already in their DMs.
- Ask more than you pitch. Keep asking until you understand the business better than the owner expected you to. Most of this job is diagnosis.
- Carry eight or ten live conversations for months without losing the thread on any of them.
- Defend the price. You will be pushed for a number early and a discount later. Both are coming, and we will back you when they do.
- Speak up. If a lead is wrong, or a client is being promised something we should not build, say it early. We would much rather hear it from you.
- Run your own week. Nobody is watching your hours. We will ask what did not work as often as what did, and we want the straight version.
- Log as you go. Our analyst and our automation both read what you write, so your notes actually go somewhere.
Full targets live in our sales SOP and we will walk you through them before you start. Nothing hidden.
What we put behind you
- You talk to owners. Short decision chains, no procurement committee, no six month approval cycle.
- Inbound leads from Google Ads. Straight with you: volume is modest today, so most of your pipeline is yours to build. Every deal you close raises the ad budget, and inbound grows with it.
- A pipeline tool that tells you who to contact today and drafts the message for you.
- A written SOP, so you know what good looks like here from day one.
- Company accounts and a company WhatsApp number, so your relationships have a whole team behind them instead of sitting alone on your phone.
- A business analyst and a technical team. Bring us a hard technical question and you get a real answer the same day.
- You watch what you sold get built, and you stay in the client's life afterwards.
Who this is for
Three to five years in B2B sales, with real experience selling custom or project based work. You have sold something that did not exist yet, where the scope gets discovered rather than picked from a list, the price depends on what you find, and the decision takes months.
Selling from a catalog is a different craft. A good one, just not this one. Software or IT services is what we would most like to see.
Fluent in Bahasa Indonesia, comfortable reading English documentation. Able to sit across from the owner of a manufacturing or retail business and talk about their problems in plain language.
Your degree, or lack of one, does not interest us.
The deal
We would love someone in or around Semarang, because we want you in the office regularly so we can go through leads together, and some conversations are simply better in person. A preference though, not a rule. If you are elsewhere and you are the right person, tell us how you would make it work.
Base fee plus commission on cash collected. Commission comes from money that actually arrives, and because our custom software projects start with a paid requirement phase, your first commission lands early instead of at the end of the build. Websites pay out faster still. Our previous salesperson more than doubled their monthly income inside two months on this structure. We agree the numbers openly before you start.
Recognise yourself in this Apply through this post on LinkedIn.
Skip the cover letter. Tell us about one custom or project based deal you closed. What the client's problem really was, and how long it took from first contact to signature. That tells us more than a CV ever has.
