Business Controller (Indonesia & Malaysia)
Key Responsibilities
- Serve as the finance business partner for operations in Indonesia and Malaysia.
- Lead monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting, forecasting, budgeting, and management reporting activities.
- Manage Percentage of Completion (POC) accounting, including revenue recognition, cost-to-complete reviews, and contract margin analysis
- Monitor project financial performance, profitability, cash flow, backlog, and key business KPIs.
- Review project forecasts and work closely with Project Managers to identify financial risks and opportunities.
- Support month-end and year-end close processes, ensuring compliance with IFRS and company policies.
- Prepare financial analysis and business insights for regional and local management teams.
- Drive process improvements, financial controls, and governance across Indonesia and Malaysia.
- Manage project administration, including PR/PO processing, JDE project setup, budget maintenance, vendor/customer creation, billing, unbilled monitoring, and project-related business support.
- Act as the key liaison between local operations and APAC finance leadership.
- Support the project in bidding process
Requirements
- Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline; CPA/CA/CIMA preferred.
- 5+ years experience in Business Controlling, Project Controlling, FP&A, or Commercial Finance.
- Strong experience with POC accounting and project-based revenue recognition.
- Hands-on experience with JD Edwards (JDE), including project accounting, financial reporting, and forecasting.
- Experience using OneStream for consolidation, planning, forecasting, and management reporting.
- Strong analytical, communication, and business partnering skills.
- Advanced Excel skills and ability to work with large data sets.
- Experience supporting multi-country operations, preferably across Southeast Asia.
- Ability to partner effectively with operational, commercial, and project management teams.
- Experience in engineering, construction, infrastructure, technology, or project-based businesses.
Knowledge of Indonesia and Malaysia statutory, tax, and financial reporting requirements.
