Duties and Responsibilities for the role of Business Controller
The Business Controller will support the finance function across all the projects in Indonesia by working closely with the commercial team and the regional Finance Team. The role covers business and project controlling — budgeting, forecasting, cost tracking, and measuring and reporting entity and project performance — along with entity set-up and operational support for projects under development.
Key Responsibilities
- Partner with the business development and project teams to provide timely and accurate monthly entity budgets/forecasts and project performance tracking, as well as cashflow monitoring and reporting; highlight variances and recommend corrective actions
- Develop and maintain project cost forecasts & actuals and prepare and issue cost analyses to support project decision-making
- Provide operational support, including liaising with stakeholders and tracking timelines, and prepare, review and maintain project documentation, reports, contracts and financials
- Bank administration and manage relationship with banks on all the documentations for account opening and/or the issuance of bank loans, bond applications and other financial instruments
- Support the closing process and other ad hoc accounting/tax-related matters
- Contribute to the Indonesia investment structure optimization and SPV set-up process
- Manage the company incorporation and capital injection process in conjunction with the regional Finance and Corporate Secretary team
- Ensure compliance with group policies and local statutory requirements and support the strengthening of internal controls and finance processes
- Support other projects across APAC as needed
Requirements & Qualifications:-
Education and professional qualifications
- Minimum: Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics or a related discipline
- Preferred: A professional qualification such as CPA, ACCA, CIMA, or Indonesian Chartered Accountant (CA / Ak.), completed or in progress. A Big 4 audit or advisory background is an advantages
Work Experience
- Minimum: Around 5 to 8 years of relevant experience across project finance, financial planning and analysis, or corporate finance, with meaningful exposure to accounting and reporting. Calibrate the exact range to the seniority you intend, since the treasury and structuring scope here could justify pushing to 8 plus for a stronger hire
- Preferred: Experience in a capital-intensive sector, ideally renewables, power, infrastructure, construction, or EPC, and prior work inside a multinational or matrix organisation. Direct experience setting up SPVs, incorporating companies (PT PMA), and handling capital injections is highly valued.
