Backend Java Developer

Role Description This is a contract, on-site Backend Java Developer role based in Jakarta, Indonesia. The Backend Java Developer will design, develop, and maintain server-side applications and APIs using Java and the Spring Framework. Day-to-day tasks include implementing microservices, integrating with internal and external systems, optimizing application performance, and ensuring code quality through testing and reviews. The role involves collaborating with front-end developers, QA, and product teams to translate requirements into technical solutions, troubleshoot production issues, and contribute to architecture and deployment improvements. The developer will also help maintain documentation and follow secure coding and best practices throughout the development lifecycle.

Qualifications

• Strong Software Development and Programming skills, with a focus on Java.
• Experience building and maintaining Microservices and distributed backend systems.
• Proficiency with the Spring Framework and related Spring ecosystem tools.
• Familiarity with RESTful APIs, relational or NoSQL databases, and version control (e.g., Git).
• Understanding of software design principles, unit testing, and CI/CD practices.
• Ability to work on-site in Jakarta, collaborate within cross-functional teams, and communicate clearly in English and Indonesian.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• Experience in insurance, media, or other data-intensive domains is an advantage.
