Backend Engineer

Job Details

We are seeking a Backend Engineer to join our Technology team and support the development of Ultra Voucher's products and platforms. In this role, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining scalable backend systems while ensuring high performance, reliability, and seamless integration with internal and third-party services. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality solutions that support business growth and project delivery.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, or a related field.
• 1–3 years of professional experience in Backend Development.
• Currently working as a Senior Backend Engineer or in an equivalent role.
• Proven experience developing backend applications using Node.js, with strong proficiency in the NestJS Framework.
• Strong understanding of Microservices Architecture and experience integrating distributed systems.
• Hands-on experience with message queue technologies such as Kafka and RabbitMQ.
• Proficient in relational databases such as PostgreSQL and MySQL, as well as NoSQL databases like MongoDB.
• Experience implementing caching solutions using Redis.
• Strong knowledge of RESTful API design, development, and integration.
• Familiarity with Git, unit testing, integration testing, and code review best practices.
• Experience leading or mentoring a development team, preferably in a reputable technology company, is an advantage.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and teamwork skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, agile environment.

As a Backend Engineer, you will:

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend applications using Node.js, primarily with the NestJS Framework.
• Build and manage microservices architecture and integrations using message brokers such as Kafka and RabbitMQ.
• Develop and optimise applications using PostgreSQL, MySQL, and MongoDB.
• Improve application performance by implementing caching mechanisms using Redis.
• Collaborate with product owners, business users, and cross-functional teams to analyze business requirements and provide effective technical solutions.
• Develop and maintain RESTful APIs and API documentation for frontend and third-party integrations.
• Ensure code quality through unit testing, integration testing, code reviews, and best development practices.
• Monitor, troubleshoot, and resolve production issues while maintaining system stability, reliability, and performance.
