About The Role
We are looking for a passionate Backend Engineer to join our Card Issuing Team, which is building APIs and infrastructure that enable businesses to launch and manage their own card programs across South East Asia.
This role will work closely with cross-functional teams to build scalable backend services, support integrations with payment providers and third-party systems, and contribute to the development of a zero-to-one card issuing platform.
The ideal candidate is someone who enjoys solving technical challenges, thrives in fast-paced environments, and is excited about building scalable fintech infrastructure from the ground up.
What You Will Do
- Design, develop, test, and maintain backend services and APIs for the Card Issuing platform
- Build and maintain scalable systems supporting card issuance and payment processing
- Work with third-party APIs and payment integrations for local and global card transactions
- Troubleshoot and resolve system issues, performance bottlenecks, and scalability challenges
- Support regression testing, integration testing, and system reliability improvements
- Address bugs, technical debt, and operational support requests
- Participate in sprint planning, code reviews, and technical discussions
- Implement security and engineering best practices across services and infrastructure
- Build internal operational tools and reporting systems for platform management
- Support incident response and on-call duties when required
- Collaborate closely with Product, Design, QA, and Operations teams on feature delivery and platform improvements
What We Are Looking For
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field
- Minimum 3 years of backend engineering experience
- Strong proficiency in Golang
- Experience building and maintaining RESTful APIs
- Familiarity with microservices architecture
- Experience with SQL databases, preferably MariaDB or MySQL
- Familiarity with Git and GitHub workflows
- Experience with Docker and CI/CD pipelines
- Strong debugging, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills
- Good communication and collaboration skills
- Willingness to learn and operate in a fast-paced environment
- Familiar with AI such as Claude/Codex
