Job Overview

We are currently seeking an experienced Backend Developer to join one of the leading life insurance companies in Indonesia. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing, enhancing, and maintaining backend applications and services while ensuring reliability, scalability, and seamless integration with enterprise systems.

This opportunity is suitable for a Java Backend Developer with strong experience in modern backend frameworks, microservices architecture, deployment environments, and enterprise application development.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, enhance, and maintain backend applications using Java.
• Develop scalable backend services using frameworks such as Spring Boot and Quarkus.
• Design and implement RESTful APIs and microservices-based solutions.
• Deploy and manage applications on JBoss and/or Kubernetes environments.
• Work with relational and NoSQL databases, including PostgreSQL, Couchbase, and MongoDB.
• Support application build, deployment, and release processes through CI/CD pipelines.
• Collaborate with developers, QA engineers, business analysts, architects, and other stakeholders throughout the software development lifecycle.
• Participate actively in Agile development activities, including sprint planning, reviews, and technical discussions.
• Support application integration with enterprise workflow and business rule platforms where applicable.
• Troubleshoot application issues and contribute to continuous improvement of system performance, stability, and code quality.
• Provide technical guidance or mentoring to other software engineers when required.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years of hands-on experience in Java backend development.
• Strong proficiency in Java and backend frameworks such as Spring Boot and/or Quarkus.
• Strong understanding of RESTful API design and microservices architecture.
• Experience deploying and managing applications using JBoss and/or Kubernetes.
• Familiarity with CI/CD tools, such as Jenkins and GitHub Actions.
• Experience working with relational and NoSQL databases, such as PostgreSQL, Couchbase, and MongoDB.
• Experience working within Agile software development environments.
• Experience with workflow platforms such as IBM Business Automation Workflow (BAW) is an advantage.
• Experience with Business Rule Management Systems such as IBM Operational Decision Manager (ODM) is an advantage.
• Previous experience leading, coaching, or mentoring software engineers will be considered an added advantage.
