Business Function

Group Operations enables and empowers the bank with an efficient, nimble, and resilient infrastructure through a strategic focus on productivity, quality & control, technology, people capability and innovation. In Group Operations, we manage the majority of the Bank's operational processes and inspire to delight our business partners through our multiple banking delivery channels. As an Operations Department, we embrace and reinforce the strong PRIDE! culture that is built up in DBS. This is done through strategic focus on training and improving staff capability, empowerment, productivity, teamwork, innovation & technology, managing operational risks & strongly collaborating with our business partners in delivering excellent RED service to our customers.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the day-to-day operations of the trade finance team, ensuring efficient and accurate processing of trade transactions
  • Manage the team's workload, prioritize tasks, and delegate responsibilities to ensure timely completion of all trade finance activities
  • Provide guidance and support to team members, fostering a collaborative and productive work environment
  • Develop and implement process improvements to enhance the efficiency and accuracy of trade finance operations
  • Ensure compliance with relevant rules, regulations, and guidelines, such as UCP, ISBP, and URDG
  • Collaborate with other departments, such as sales and credit, to provide seamless customer service and support
  • Monitor and analyze trade finance data to identify trends and opportunities for optimization
  • Lead and motivate the team, providing coaching and mentoring to support their professional development

Requirements

  • Thorough understanding of trade finance products, processes, and regulations, including knowledge of UCP, ISBP, URDG, and other applicable rules and guidelines
  • Proven ability to lead and manage a team, with strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills, with the ability to prioritize and multitask effectively
  • Proficient in using trade finance software and systems
  • Strong analytical and reporting skills, with the ability to interpret data and identify areas for improvement
  • Commitment to providing exceptional customer service and maintaining strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders
