Job Description

Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Automation Specialist to support and improve automation systems in the Pulp Machine area. The candidate will be responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, optimizing, and developing automation systems including DCS, PLC, and Drive systems to ensure stable, safe, and efficient mill operation.

The ideal candidate should have strong technical knowledge in industrial automation within the pulp and paper industry and be capable of working closely with operation, maintenance, and engineering teams.

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain and troubleshoot automation systems in the Pulp Machine area.
  • Support daily operation reliability for DCS, PLC, and Drive systems.
  • Analyze and resolve automation-related issues to minimize downtime.
  • Perform preventive and corrective maintenance for automation equipment.
  • Optimize control logic and process performance to improve machine efficiency and product quality.
  • Participate in shutdown, commissioning, and startup activities.
  • Coordinate with operation and maintenance teams for process improvement initiatives.
  • Conduct system backup, documentation updates, and software management.
  • Support instrumentation and field device troubleshooting when required.
  • Ensure automation systems comply with safety and company standards.
  • Provide technical support and training to technicians and operators.
  • Participate in continuous improvement and reliability programs.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree or Diploma in Electrical Engineering, Automation Engineering, Instrumentation, or related field.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in industrial automation within Pulp & Paper industry.
  • Strong experience in:
  • Distributed Control System (DCS)
  • Programmable Logic Controller (PLC)
  • Drive systems / VFD
  • Experience handling automation systems in Pulp Machine area is highly preferred.
  • Familiar with industrial communication protocols and control networks.
  • Able to read electrical, control, and automation drawings.
  • Experience in troubleshooting and optimization of process control systems.
  • Good understanding of instrumentation and field devices.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Able to work independently and in team environment.
  • Good communication skill in English.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with major automation brands such as Siemens, ABB, Honeywell, Yokogawa, Emerson, Rockwell, or Schneider.
  • Experience in project implementation, commissioning, and system upgrade.
  • Knowledge of reliability and predictive maintenance concepts.
  • Familiar with SAP or CMMS system.
