About The Role
We are seeking a talented and experienced Associate Legal Counsel to join our Legal team in Jakarta, supporting the growth of ADVANCE.AI and its affiliated companies across Southeast Asia. This role combines strategic legal advisory responsibilities with hands-on support for commercial contracting, corporate secretarial matters, compliance, legal operations, and regulatory engagement.
The ideal candidate is commercially minded, comfortable working closely with business stakeholders, and capable of balancing legal risk with business objectives in a fast-paced technology environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Serve as the primary legal point of contact for day-to-day legal, commercial, corporate secretarial, compliance, and legal operations matters across AAI Indonesia entities.
- Provide legal support for business-as-usual (BAU) commercial matters, including contract review, drafting, negotiation, execution, customer onboarding, and support for tenders and business opportunities.
- Support corporate secretarial, governance, and compliance matters, including statutory filings, licenses, regulatory reporting, and engagement with relevant authorities.
- Advise business stakeholders on legal, regulatory, technology, data privacy, AI, and digital product matters (as required).
- Manage legal operations and administration, including contract management, legal documentation, external counsel coordination, and legal repositories.
- Support regulatory inquiries, risk management initiatives, and other ad hoc legal matters as required.
What You Will Need To Succeed
- Qualified Indonesian lawyer with at least 5 years PQE, preferably with experience in TMT, M&A, banking, or finance at a tier-1 or tier-2 law firm. In-house experience at a technology company is a strong advantage.
- Strong knowledge of complex legal matters related to technology, IP/IT, licensing, SaaS, data privacy, financial services, and fintech, including awareness of emerging trends in AI and data regulation.
- Understanding of the Indonesian regulatory framework; OJK-related experience is a plus.
- Fast learner, technically strong, and highly adaptable, with a genuine interest in technology and innovation.
- Commercially minded and practical, with the ability to identify and prioritize key legal risks and opportunities in a fast-paced environment.
- Experience providing product advisory support for technology products.
- Excellent negotiation, drafting, analytical, and communication skills.
- Culturally sensitive and able to collaborate effectively with colleagues and stakeholders across multiple countries.
